Omega awaits winner of Dubai Desert Classic

As the final day of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic gets underway today (January 28), all eyes will be on the prize.

As well as receiving a winner’s cheque and championship trophy, tomorrow’s champion will take home an exclusive Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Master Chronometer.

Many of the world’s best golfers, including Omega brand ambassadors Rory McIlroy and defending champion Sergio Garcia, are taking part in the tournament, dubbed the ‘Major of the Middle East’, at the Emirates Golf Club.

For more than 25 years, this tournament has been a celebration of golfing excellence and Omega has served it as title sponsor since 2010.

Omega President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann said: “The Omega Dubai Desert Classic is like no other event on the golfing calendar. It's easy to see why top ranking golfers from all over the world are drawn to this beautiful course and this vibrant city. The event continues to go from strength to strength and it’s a pleasure to be here again and support every dedicated player and spectator.”

The movement powering the winner’s Aqua Terra is the Omega Master Chronometer calibre 8901 - certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) at the industry’s highest standards for precision, performance and magnetic resistance.

The elegant 41 mm timepiece embodies excellence in both design and performance. It features an 18K Sedna gold case, brown leather strap, and 18K Sedna gold hands and indexes that are coated with white Super-LumiNova for superb visibility in all lighting conditions.

The brown sun-brushed dial is distinguished by a horizontal teak pattern inspired by the wooden decks of luxury sailboats.
