Mercedes-Benz Style and Lufthansa Technik are presenting their new VIP cabin design to initial customers at the Dubai Air Show, which is currently under way in Dubai, UAE.
Driven by the large interest of the VIP market for a Mercedes-Benz Style VIP cabin design in the recent months, the two companies are now presenting the first impressions of this unique conceptual floorplan.
The two German companies have been working on the design of an innovative, luxurious and integrated cabin concept, since the announcement of the cooperation at Ebace in Geneva, Switzerland in May 2015. The final design will be presented with a 3D-presentation.
"The joint project team has done a great job over the past few months. The floorplan presented here visualizes the typical Mercedes-Benz modern luxury combined with Lufthansa Technik's highest quality design approach. The result is a unique, organic and functional design for a modern VIP Jet. Together with Lufthansa Technik's latest in-flight communication and entertainment innovations, the new cabin will be ideal for global players wishing to travel in style," says Walter Heerdt, Senior Vice President VIP & Executive Jet Solutions, Lufthansa Technik.
The design team has added the cabin sections around the already presented lounge area in the middle of the aircraft. In the front the entrance area features a welcoming, open foyer, a kitchen (galley) for live cooking and a private room as well as a VIP bathroom (lavatory). In the aft part of the cabin a separate entertainment zone has been combined with the en suite private area. The open design of the bathroom and bedroom is a distinct feature conceived around a free-standing shower with transparent side walls. The luxurious king size bed is highlighted by the concave shaped and upholstered head wall.
The unique helix structure, a dynamic spiral layout, is the central design theme extending throughout the aircraft from the entrance all the way to the bedroom. This creates new, independent spatial zones without the typical arrangement of seat and wall elements. The VIP aircraft, which could seat 150 passengers in airline configuration, is designed for 16 VIP passengers.
Since 2010, in addition to classic automobile design, Mercedes-Benz designers have also created designs for other products in cooperation with selected partners under the label Mercedes-Benz Style. The aim is to transfer Mercedes-Benz's unmistakable, progressive design idiom and high standards of luxury and aesthetic appeal to other spheres of life. All Mercedes-Benz Style products stand out through the dynamic and avant-garde design that is a hallmark of the brand, uncompromising quality and the choice of fine materials finished to perfection. The portfolio includes products from the areas of mobility, lifestyle, sport and interior design.
