About 26,000 business aviation professionals are expected to attend the National Business Aviation Association’s Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA2015), which opens in Las Vegas, US, today (November 17).
The 68th edition of the event, will run till November 19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. As the most important business aviation event of the year, NBAA2015 offers attendees an unparalleled opportunity to learn about the latest issues affecting the industry.
The event is also the best place to review the latest business aviation products, technology and services, while participating in dozens of education sessions and making side-by-side comparisons of the most innovative aircraft on static display.
“NBAA2015 will offer the best place to see the latest business aviation products, technologies and services displayed by roughly 1,000 exhibitors,” says NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. “The event also offers a wide selection of education sessions and discussion forums, while enabling attendees to make side-by-side comparisons of the more than 100 business aircraft on static display.”
In addition, a number of special events and presentations will be held during the show.
FAA administrator Michael Huerta will serve as a featured speaker for the opening general session on November 17. Also speaking during the session will be: Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, who has also served as chair of the Aerospace States Association, dedicated to promoting the industry’s ongoing innovation and development at the statewide level.
Retired US Airways Capt Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger III-- who was hailed as a hero following his successful January 15, 2009 landing of a debilitated Airbus in New York's Hudson River, saving all 155 passengers on board -- will be a featured speaker during the November 18 Second-Day Opening General Session. The Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators awarded the Master's Medal to Sullenberger and the Flight 1549 crew for their efforts.
The inaugural National Safety Forum will be conducted on November 19. This forum will bring together top government and industry leaders to discuss the principal safety issues confronting business aircraft operators.
The session is tailored to the interests of aviation department managers, chief pilots, directors of maintenance, safety managers, pilots, schedulers/dispatchers, cabin crew and anyone else who is interested in improving business aviation safety.
