Vacheron Constantin's Harmony Dual Time small model has won this year’s Ladies’ Watch Prize at an awards ceremony organised by the Ringier Romandie media group with the Montres Passion watch magazine in Geneva.
Artistic Director Christian Selmoni and Design Director Vincent Kauffmann received this distinction on behalf of Vacheron Constantin.
In bestowing this prize, the jury comprising watch industry professionals was rewarding and honouring the excellence of watchmaking traditions, technical performance and aesthetic elegance – all values that have been consistently passed on within the Manufacture for the past 260 years, Vacheron Constantin said.
Selmoni said: “We are particularly thrilled that the Montres Passion prize has been awarded to a ladies’ watch. For Vacheron Constantin, women have been an abundant source of inspiration since the early 19th century and this recognition further strengthens our determination to offer them dedicated horological creations.”
The Manufacture Vacheron Constantin is celebrating its 260th anniversary this year and it was notably to mark this milestone that the new Harmony collection was unveiled at the SIHH 2015.
Harmony timepieces all bear the hallmark of Geneva and feature a cushion shape and a design inspired by one of the very first Vacheron Constantin wrist chronographs created in 1928. A curving case middle, a square case and a round watch glass are the key aesthetic characteristics of these eminently contemporary watches. Destined to house new Manufacture movements and unusual horological complications, this collection is designed to meet the demands of an active modern lifestyle.
The dual time watch is entirely in tune with the times and acknowledged as one of the most useful and sought-after complications. To meet these expectations, Vacheron Constantin has developed and produced the new self-winding Caliber 2460DT. The user-friendliness of this timepiece is enhanced by the fact that all adjustments can be done via the crown and in both directions, without any risk of damaging the mechanism. Moreover, the ribbed structure of the crown facilitates smooth and easy handling.
The prize-winning model provides a chance to admire this new Caliber 2460DT. The 18-carat white gold case is topped by a bezel daintily set with 88 diamonds totalling 1.20 carats, while the opaline silver-toned dial provides dual time readings as well as a day/night indication featuring gold sun and moon symbols.
