New aviation CEO ready for challenges


TAG Aviation Europe’s new CEO Daniel Christe has expressed his enthusiasm and confidence of rising to the challenges of the job with the backing of his team.

“I am very enthusiastic to take the lead of TAG Aviation Europe which enjoys an unrivalled reputation in the business aviation industry,” Christe said. “I remain mindful about the challenges ahead in the current difficult economic environment but am privileged to have beside me the dedication and support of a very experienced management team.

The new CEO succeeded Christof Späth, who stepped down from the role due to personal circumstances.

Christe has had a long and successful association with TAG Group, having started his career at TAG Heuer where he swiftly advanced to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Following the sale of TAG Heuer to LVMH Group in 1999, he became the CFO of TAG Aviation Holding and since that time has served with distinction in a number of different capacities within the holding and its subsidiaries.

TAG Aviation Europe offers a broad range of business aviation services including aircraft management, charter, maintenance, FBO/handling and bespoke crew training. Operating from bases in Switzerland, the UK and Spain, the company manages Europe’s largest fleet with over 80 aircraft, of which nearly 50 are available for charter.

The company also boasts two of Europe’s most experienced and capable aircraft maintenance centres, located in Geneva and Farnborough, along with local maintenance support in Paris, Sion (Switzerland) and Madrid. TAG Aviation’s FBOs (fixed base operations) in Geneva and TAG Farnborough Airport, a sister company, have repeatedly won top ratings for FBOs worldwide.

TAG Aviation has pioneered industry standards in business aviation client service, safety systems, operational excellence and bespoke training, with a history dating back to 1966. 

TAG Aviation is a global company that includes TAG Aviation Europe, TAG Aviation Asia in Hong Kong and TAG Aviation Middle East in Bahrain. 

Globally, TAG Aviation manages a fleet of over 120 aircraft, with around 50 available for charter. The company also provides comprehensive maintenance and engineering services in nine locations (Geneva, Sion, Farnborough, Paris, Clermont-Ferrand, Madrid, Lisbon, Hong Kong and Lomé).
