The House of Bovet, a leading Swiss luxury watchmaker, is presenting a fitting gift for the upcoming season of love and romance.
For the Valentine’s Day, a day meant to celebrate beauty, passion, and love, Bovet explores new possibilities with the launch of Lady Bovet and its 39 mm diameter case.
"Now, women can also enjoy the Virtuoso II caliber’s seven days of autonomy and the reversibility of the case, which gives the timepiece multiple guises," says a spokesman.
The Virtuoso II watchmaking specialties caliber is the first movement not regulated by a tourbillon to be entirely developed and produced by Bovet's own technicians and watchmakers. This caliber equips and drives numerous complications as well as the majority of Bovet's timepieces. This caliber also stands out for its dual display of hours and minutes on both sides of the movement, together with a seconds carriage.
The first face presented by Lady Bovet invites the beholder to admire a feminine expression of the specific architecture and technical nature of the Virtuoso II. An off-centered dial at 12 o’clock houses the hours and minutes hands, and enables the movement’s atypical structure to be appreciated.
The seconds carriage at 6 o’clock completes the vertical axis with a triple hand, with each arm successively tracing the 120° scale on the dial. The centre wheel and its bridge, both visible at 4 o’clock, mirror the balance spring and balance cock, while the power-reserve indicator is located at 10 o’clock.
A quick and easy manoeuvre enables the timepiece to be worn on the reverse, revealing an entirely different face. A classic dial displaying the hours and minutes graces this side of the timepiece. Numerous colour and material options are available to meet individual preferences.
With this latest creation, Bovet 1822 has enriched its ladies’ collections with the same quality and performance as its men’s models, but with a size and design that have been ideally defined to suit each individual, says the spokesman.
For the woman who appreciates intricacy and true luxury, there is no better gift, he adds.
Meanwhile, for men, Bovet is presenting The Monsieur Bovet. It spotlights the Virtuoso II movement that made its debut in 2014, housed inside the Amadeo convertible case. The patented double coaxial seconds mechanism indicates seconds on each side of the movement, using the same axis yet rotating in opposite directions.
One face of the Monsieur Bovet displays the intricacy and unique architecture of the movement, while the other prefers the quiet beauty of a lacquered dial that reveals only the seconds carriage.
