Chopard has paid tribute to the Porsche Club of America, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary next year, unveiling a special limited edition watch for what is said to be the largest single-marque car club in the world.
The Chopard Mille Miglia for the Porsche Club of America will be offered in a 66-piece limited edition.
Chopard is a faithful partner of the Mille Miglia, the legendary classic cars event which is held every year in Italy and the Swiss watches and jewellery house and offers a collection of watches dedicated to this event, which has become the brand’s unmistakable sporting emblem.
“Chopard is celebrating 25 years as sponsor of the Mille Miglia this year, while the Porsche Club of America celebrates 60 years of existence in 2015,” says a spokesman for the Swiss manufacture. “Both represent incredible milestones in the history of the world of automobiles.”
He continues: “Porsche Club of America Executive Director Vu Nguyen and Georg Bartkowiak, a member of the Porsche Clubs of both America and Germany, decided to commemorate these milestones by realising a limited edition wristwatch with the help of Chopard.
“This timepiece is a true collector’s item due to its desirability and rarity: there are only 66 pieces for the world, 60 in a 42-mm stainless steel case and six in 18-carat rose gold.”
The Chopard Mille Miglia for the Porsche Club of America can be ordered immediately with delivery expected for early December. This watch can be ordered online at www.pcatime.com.
The stainless steel watch is $5,990, while the 18-carat edition costs $21,000.
