De Grisogono will be showing off its latest women’s watch – the New Retro Lady – with baguette-cut stones among other creations at the upcoming Baselword watch and jewellery fair.

“At this year’s Baselworld de Grisogono has opted for baguette-cut diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds, regarded as the ‘big four’ precious stones - classic adornments for an ageless watch and colours reflecting the spirit embodied in the four elements: air, water, fire and earth,” says a spokesman for the manufacture.

The new watch was first unveiled in December on the heels of the New Retro for men.

In this series, de Grisogono explores the timeless refinement of the 1950 with a large rectangular model that is at once minimalist, atypical and intrinsically elegant. 

A timepiece asserting the inimitable de Grisogono style and appearing in colourful or understated versions, the New Retro Lady is all about bespoke, finely tailored details. 

A 12 o’clock dial, an extremely readable dial enhanced by a full-set round counter, along with the care devoted to creating ideal colour combinations create a perfect overall effect.

The New Retro Lady is a watch born in the 21st century and rooted in the 1950s, says de Grisogono. A source of inspiration for fashionistas, first ladies, princesses, actresses and quintessential women, the New Retro Lady is destined to become a byword for timeless elegance, it adds.

The baguette-version of the automatic watch is available in two models: the New Retro S24D and the New Retro S24R.

The New Retro S24D has a pink gold case set with 70 baguette-cut white diamonds, a sapphire crystal case back, a crown at 12 o’clock with de Grisogono coat of arms, an off-white dial set with 60 baguette-cut white diamonds, golden Arabic numerals, Dauphine hands, a white galuchat strap, and a triple folding clasp set with white diamonds. 

The New Retro S24R, pink gold case set with 70 baguette-cut white diamonds, sapphire crystal case back, a crown at 12 o’clock with de Grisogono coat of arms, off-white dial set with 60 baguette-cut rubies, fuchsia Superluminova Arabic numerals, Dauphine hands, ruby galuchat strap and pink gold triple folding clasp set with rubies. 

Both are water resistant to 30 m. 

Baselworld will be held from March 17 to 24 in Basel, Switzerland.
