Perrelet has revealed two new watches - one designed for frequent travellers, and another celebrating the Year of the Monkey.
The Turbine GMT, is a watch with a traveller’s soul, equipped with a dual time-zone function.
The hand indicating the second time zone is adjusted using the crown, as are the hour hands, to ensure user-friendly functionality.
Steel was the obvious choice for this sporty, contemporary watch. Beneath a sapphire crystal, the generous 44-mm diameter case houses the famous bladed dial of the Turbine collection. An original 3D effect transports you to the very heart of the watch, where a turbine in blue or black anodised aluminum reveals, with each movement of the wrist, an under-dial decorated with Côtes de Genève and delicately engraved with a map of the world. The sapphire crystal dial features a series of Arabic numerals and applied hour-markers.
The watch is driven by the automatic manufacture P-401 caliber, which can be admired through the transparent case back and provides a power reserve of 42 hours.
The Turbine GMT is available in four versions: classic black or on-trend Pacific blue, with either a matching rubber strap or an alligator strap.
The watches are available from CHF6,550 ($6,680) for the steel/PVD models, and CHF5,950 ($6,070) for the steel versions.
The iconic Turbine collection has also welcomed a new model which pays tribute to the Chinese Year of the Monkey, which began last week (February 8).
Creativity, technique and craftsmanship are three words that perfectly summarise the values of Perrelet, and the Turbine Monkey is a concrete expression of these principles.
The distinctive styling of this timepiece immediately draws attention to the dial side.
The twelve blades of the emblematic turbine are finely decorated with the 12 Chinese horoscope signs, highlighting the monkey at 6 o’clock with a touch of brilliant red.
The black under-dial repeats this imagery, displaying the Chinese monkey sign in vivid red.
With its unique look, the hour, minute, and second functions are legible through the central hands on the outer ring. The red second hand harmoniously matches the colour of the monkey and the Chinese sign below the blades.
The three-piece bold round case is available in stainless steel with black PVD coating and has an integrated crown at 3 o’clock.
The timepiece is fitted with Perrelet’s in-house P-331 automatic caliber, providing an optimal power reserve of 42 hours. The sapphire crystal caseback enables the owner to admire the beauty of the movement.
Presented in an edition of 100 pieces, the Turbine Monkey is an exclusive and original addition to the Perrelet collection and is priced around $6,650.
The watch is completed by a black rubber strap with a steel black PVD-coated folding clasp.
