Chopard hosted an exclusive dinner for a host of stars ahead of the 2016 Academy Awards ceremony in the US.
The dinner was hosted on Friday in West Hollywood in association with brand consultants Eco Age, Chopard’s partner in its “journey to sustainable luxury” and the founder of the Green Carpet Challenge.
Film stars Julianne Moore, Emily Blunt, Kevin Bacon, Mark Ruffalo and Sunrise Coigney, Cameron Russell, Ben Barnes, Richard Buckley, and Aaron Paul joined Eco-Age founders Colin and Livia Firth and Chopard Co-President & Artistic Director, Caroline Scheufele at the event to celebrate sustainable style at the 2016 Oscars.
Launched in partnership with Eco-Age in 2013, Chopard’s ‘Journey to Sustainable Luxury’ is an initiative to commit to suppliers who use responsible social and environmental practices. The goal is to improve the environment and the lives of those at the very beginning of the supply chain.
Working with the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM), a South American mining non-government organisation, Chopard became the world’s first watch and luxury jewellery brand to enable mining communities to reach Fairmined gold certification as well as providing training, social welfare and environmental support.
As part of this drive, Chopard also brings out special green carpet collections of jewellery in accordance with the Green Carpet Challenge’s ethical benchmarks.
The Green Carpet Challenge pairs glamour and ethics to raise the profile of sustainability, ethics and social welfare.
The 2016 Oscars, the annual awards ceremony hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will be held in Los Angeles, today.
