Spring/Summer 2022
Global aerospace and aviation leaders will return to Hampshire, United Kingdom, for five days of unrivalled opportunities as the Farnborough International Airshow 2022 opens in July.
The airshow, from July 18 to 22, is expected to be the most internationally attended edition in the event's history.
At the most important aerospace event in four years, participants will discover the latest pioneering technology and engineering, announce historic partnerships, build connections and work towards the cumulative sustainable aerospace vision as an industry.
New for 2022, the Aerospace Global Forum will revolutionise how the industry will share knowledge and tackle global challenges. The forum will see pioneers and innovators from across the worldwide technology, sustainability, engineering, space, and defence spheres convene and immerse themselves in driving accelerated material change through an aerospace lens.
Gareth Rogers, CEO of Farnborough International, says: “With the entire world now focusing on the critical health and sustainability of the planet, we are at the most important juncture in the history of aerospace. Without having had face-to-face opportunities to discuss the opportunities and challenges for the future of aerospace over the last two years, Farnborough International Airshow’s role in the industry is now more vital than ever.
“We have marked 2022 as the year of pioneering change across the global aerospace industry and the Farnborough International Airshow will be the epicentre of the progressive innovations and partnerships that will take the sector forward for years to come.
“With over 90% of the exhibition spaces sold, this year is set to be our most internationally attended event in our history and we cannot wait to welcome the global industry to Farnborough International Airshow 2022.”
Kevin Craven, CEO of ADS Group, adds: “Attracting leaders from across the world, Farnborough International offers a vital opportunity to evolve, collaborate and connect at the highest level to propel the UK the aerospace, aviation and defence industries into the stratosphere.
“I look forward to welcoming our esteemed members and global professionals to Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre.
“At ADS, we represent and support more than 1,100 UK businesses operating in the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors, and the Farnborough International Airshow is a vital date in our industry calendars to connect with our members and revolutionise our operations as an international network.”
Robert Courts MP, UK Aviation Minister, says: “We know how challenging the last 24 months have been for the aviation sector and the return of this world-renowned airshow marks a significant moment for the industry.
“As well as being a huge boost for the economy, the show highlights the leading role the UK plays in ushering in a new era of Jet Zero aviation, developing innovative new technologies and creating green jobs.”
A host of pioneers, including Airbus, Boeing, Boom Supersonic, Lockheed Martin, Rolls-Royce, GE Aviation, BAE Systems and Raytheon Technologies will exhibit their latest aircraft, innovations and technology at the show.
On exhibiting at the 2022 airshow, John Harrison, Chairman, Airbus in the UK, says: “As we continue to pioneer sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world, we look forward to strengthening our connections and showcasing our innovative new technologies at the Farnborough International Airshow 2022, this July.
“Working together to recover from a challenging two years and building on our success from 2018, which saw a plethora of international orders and deals completed, we look forward to reconnecting with our peers, partners and of course meeting with the latest innovators across the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors.”
The expo is expected to build upon the success of the 2018 show, which saw deals worth $192 billion made.
The event will also see the expansion of its Smart Networking opportunities, evolution of turnkey chalets and a new Space Zone, utilising the two brand-new 22,000-sq ft sound stages built on the grounds of Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre.
Steering the conversation on six core themes pertinent to the aerospace, aviation and defence industries, the airshow will focus on the future of the industry, sustainability, aerospace and defence thought leadership, space, future workforce and air travel.
Meanwhile, following the events taking place in Eastern Europe, the organisers have made the decision to suspend Russian participation at the 2022 Farnborough International Airshow. “Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine, and everyone affected by the current situation. We continue to hope for a timely and peaceful resolution,” a statement said.
