Spring/Summer 2022
The magical venue of Arsenale will open its doors to pleasure boating for the third edition of the Venice Boat Show in the last week of May, confirming its position as the most natural reference point for the Eastern Mediterranean market.
Held in collaboration with the Italian Navy in Venice, the 2022 edition will start on May 28 and run up to June 5, offering visitors an extended period that includes two weekends.
Last year, over 30,000 visitors enlivened the historic docks to physically attend the show in the safest of conditions. It was the first live boating event since the pandemic, and confirmed an increased interest in boating and the rediscovery of the boat as an intimate place to enjoy and have fun with family and friends.
The city’s Mayor, Luigi Brugnaro, commented: “With the 2021 edition of the boat show, we succeeded in consolidating our initial goal, which was to bring the art of ship-building back home and to confirm Venice as the Queen of the Seas.
“With this same spirit, we are ready to open the doors of the Arsenale once again and to continue offering a show like no other. This third edition promises a rich and innovative programme, full of excellence and passion, to again confirm Venice not only as the capital city of the sea, but also of sustainability and innovation. Tradition and progress go hand in hand here in Venice and all those who visit this year’s boat show will be able to see this.”
Among the exhibitors are leading groups in the boating sector, who have all confirmed their presence. In addition to Azimut Benetti, Beneteau and the Ferretti Group, who already attended the second edition, Sanlorenzo and Sunseeker will be making their debut at this year’s show. Moreover, Absolute, Arcadia, Frauscher, Invictus, Pardo, Rizzardi, and Sessa in the motorboats sector and Italia Yachts, Myilus, More and Pegasus in the sailboat sector will take part.
The Arsenale offers a unique environment. It was the seafaring heart of the Venetian Republic, or the Serenissima, as it is also referred to. It offers a 50,000-sq-m water basin, over 1,000 linear metres of landing stages, approximately 30,000 sq m of outdoor exhibition spaces, and 5,000 m of covered pavilions.
All the outstanding businesses in the boating sector will be present and to meet the needs of the growing number of exhibitors, to accommodate their boats, new jetties have been arranged with the overall distance of the display area likely to exceed 2.5 km.
In Spring, Venice will be in its great splendour and many cultural activities will complement the show. In fact, Biennale Arte will also be taking place after a three-year break, bringing with it an unparalleled series of art exhibitions, along with the opening of many historic buildings.
As with the second edition of the Venice Boat Show, eco-sustainability and low-impact technologies will be the guiding thread of all the thematic areas where the best of Italian and international production will be presented in conjunction with their green evolution.
Numerous conferences and presentations will focus on sustainability and the environment as well as sporting initiatives that will take place over the nine days of the show, with the participation of experts from all around the world.
