The 2016 Salon des Grandes Complications in Dubai will double in size over the previous year’s event, the organisers have announced.
Now in its third edition, the annual event will be held from November 7 to 10 at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) in the UAE city.
The fine watchmaking exhibition premiered in 2014 with the aim of offering leading horological brands a platform to engage with watch enthusiasts from across the Middle East, and has since become an annual event in Dubai.
The first of its kind in the region, the event has featured some of the most renowned international manufactories and award-winning independent watchmakers.
These include A Lange & Söhne, Arnold & Son, Bulgari, Cartier, Chopard, Cvstos, Frédéric Jouvenot, Girard-Perregaux, Greubel Forsey, Grieb & Benzinger, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Jaermann & Stübi, Kerbedanz, Montblanc, Panerai, Piaget, Roger Dubuis, Roland Iten, Vacheron Constantin, Vianney Halter and Voutilainen, as well as luxury mobile phone manufacturer Vertu.
At Salon des Grandes Complications, visitors have the opportunity to get up close and personal with not only the newest launches, but one-off pieces and rarities that are seldom displayed.
Watchmakers and engravers showcase their expertise with live demonstrations, and heritage, craftsmanship and innovation in the world of haute horology is celebrated.
In 2015, the salon was endorsed by the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH, the Swiss watch industry's leading trade association.
As with previous years, the ‘Watch of the Year Awards’ will be held on the last evening of the salon. The awards recognise achievements of various brands across different categories and judged by a distinguished panel of 16 experts, aim to establish industry standards across the Middle East and raise awareness of watch culture and horological craftsmanship.
The Dubai event is organised by MPP Middle East Media, the publisher of Arabian Watches & Jewellery magazine, and JNJ.
