De Grisogono’s new flagship store in Dubai is showcasing some its latest creations launched at the 2016 Baselworld watch and jewellery show.
The store was opened earlier this month in collaboration with long term partner and renowned Dubai retailer Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons.
Abdulhamied Seddiqi, Vice Chairman of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and Fawaz Gruosi, Founder and Executive Board Director of de Grisogono were present to cut the black ribbon.
Located in the prestigious jeweller area of The Dubai Mall, the 175-sq-m boutique features a new interiors concept developed by Gruosi in collaboration with London interior architects David Collins Studio.
The boutique’s interior concept expresses the energy, craftsmanship and detailing of the jewelry and watch collections designed by Gruosi. The store utilises classic details and proportions juxtaposed with modernist furniture pieces.
The interior design subtly references the aesthetic constants of the iconic de Grisogono jewellery within the interior architecture and furniture.
The three rooms of the boutique each have a specific purpose.
The Corte showcases a collection of jewellery personally chosen by Fawaz Gruosi. The room was designed in amethyst tones and shimmering white, with panels of amethyst dyed galuchat, referencing the material’s use in numerous de Grisogono creations. Polished dark walnut vitrines showcase the jewelry, which imbues the space with life.
The Stanza Del Tempo celebrates the brand’s renowned timepiece collections. The room is dark and dramatic in contrast with the other spaces. Wall mounted, cantilevered vitrines in antique brass sit against wood veneer marquetry walls showcasing the innovative and unique de Grisogono timepieces.
The Grande Sala is lined in pistachio-colored silk. The drawing room has an intentional residential feel and invites the guest into the private world of de Grisogono. Gruosi has personally curated artwork from the Opera Gallery, Murano glass chandeliers, and a selection of mid-century Italian furniture.
Gruosi explains the strategy behind the opening of this new boutique: “The Dubai boutique will showcase a number of haute couture high jewellery pieces that are created by artisans in our ateliers. The combination of unique designs, traditional high jewelry techniques and our creative approach will enable us to continuously surprise our customers. Dubai today is a globally recognised shopping destination. At the heart of what the emirate offers, The Dubai Mall reunites the world’s most important luxury brands. Therefore, the new boutique stands as a strategic milestone for the brand not only in the Middle East but in the world over.
The new boutique has de Grisogono’s latest must-see creations, which were first unveiled only a few weeks ago at the Baselworld show in Geneva, Switzerland.
Amongst these creations are the sensual India collection composed of earrings, rings and bracelets, the Allegra collection choker with its interlacing gold and leather bands and the stunning fan-shaped Ventaglio earrings.
De Grisogono was founded by Gruosi in 1993. As creative director of the maison, he is passionate about exploring unusual materials and exceptional stones. Twenty-three years after propelling the black diamond to the forefront of the international jewellery scene, Gruosi is now regarded as one of the most innovative forces of his generation. His bold, iconic designs have enabled de Grisogono to carve out a place for itself amongst the most prestigious names in contemporary luxury.
Established in 1950, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons is a family-owned and run business synonymous with exquisitely designed watches. From its humble beginnings as a single store in the souq, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons has gone on to become the largest retailer of Swiss brand watches in the Middle East, boasting a portfolio of over 60 prestigious brands across 67 locations in the UAE.
