Looking to dress to thrill this Halloween?
Swiss luxury jeweller de Grisogono has just the thing that makes a frightfully expensive statement: a jewel encrusted skull-shaped watch.
The price? Between $632,500 to $822,250, depending on the type of precious gems used on the timepiece.
And if that’s not enough, de Grisgono also has conjured up some exquisite Halloween cuff links to make sure you gentlemen are dressed to kill.
de Grisongono unveiled its Crazy Skull watch to a select audience of celebrities and VIPs at its luxurious new showroom in Paris, France, with the company’s founder Fawaz Gruosi declaring that only around 10 of these precious watches would ever be made.
Artfully designed, featuring rare and precious materials, the Crazy Skull watch required almost a year of research and development and approximately 250 hours of intricate jewellery work.
The skull is snow-set with 891 diamonds (white or black) or rubies totalling approximately 23 carats and embellished with a nose featuring a beautiful heart-cut white diamond of approximately 1.5 carats, which has been cut from a 3-carat raw stone.
As a tribute to kinetic art, the passing of time elapses in dual time displays appearing through the skull’s eyes on which a spiralling setting of black and white diamonds subtly evokes movement.
Thanks to an intricate mechanism devised and developed by the highly skilled de Grisogono’s master jewellers, the mouth is set with 7.70 carats of sparkling invisible-set white baguette-cut diamonds and when the lower jaw is triggered, the “Crazy Skull” sticks out its tongue set with 66 pink sapphires or rubies.
Guests at the star-studded event included American supermodel Karlie Kloss who wore the watch to show it off to the Press, Hungarian fashion model and actress Barbara Palvin, French singer and actor Johnny Hallyday and his wife Laeticia, Don Was, the American music producer behind the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan, actor Gaspard Proust, the famous French photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino and French House artist Kavinsky.
The Halloween cufflinks collection, meanwhile, are influenced by the jeweller’s extravagant designs, with an eclectic allure.
They proposes an ideal way to add some style to your suit, de Grisgono says, adding that in matters of elegance, it is always the “details that make the difference”.
The playful and vivid cufflinks are crafted from white gold, white and black ceramic and white and black diamonds.
