Gulfstream has expanded its support of customers based in and travelling through Greater London by adding line maintenance and aircraft-on-ground services at London Stansted Airport in the UK.
Gulfstream’s resources at Stansted include technicians and support personnel, dedicated hangar space at Inflite The Jet Centre’s maintenance facility and access to Inflite’s state-of-the-art fixed-based operator (FBO) services.
Gulfstream has also repositioned its custom-outfitted Field and Airborne Support Teams (FAST) mobile repair vehicle to Stansted from Gulfstream Luton, its service centre approximately 55 miles/89 km away at London Luton Airport.
“We’ve added more depth to the services we already offer in one of the world’s busiest business jet hubs,” said Derek Zimmerman, president, Gulfstream Product Support. “Stansted’s main role will be to support Gulfstream Luton when that site is near capacity. It also gives operators an additional option for maintenance. Locating our FAST mobile repair vehicle at Stansted further extends that rapid-response element to operators at nearby airports.”
Gulfstream’s Stansted-based technicians are authorised to work on Gulfstream aircraft registered in the US, European Union, Aruba, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Barbados, Bermuda, Brazil, Burundi, Cayman Islands, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Isle of Man, Kuwait, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey and the UAE.
The Stansted-based FAST mobile repair vehicle is equipped with tools, a work table, a vise, a generator, a hydraulic ramp, wheel storage, jacks, compressed gas, consumables, such as oil, paint and sealants, and wi-fi. With these resources, Gulfstream technicians can perform line-service repairs, storage inspections and minor cabin repairs.
London Stansted is located approximately 35 miles/56 km northeast of central London. The 24-hour airport primarily serves commercial aircraft, but has several FBOs that cater to business jets.
According to European Business Aviation Association figures, London is Europe’s busiest city for private jets. Greater London has at least six airports available for private aviation operators.
A wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics of the US, designs, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation develops, manufactures, markets, services and supports the world’s most technologically advanced business-jet aircraft. Gulfstream has produced more than 2,500 aircraft for customers around the world since 1958. Gulfstream offers a comprehensive fleet of aircraft, comprising the G150, the G280, the G450, the G550, the G500, the G600, the G650 and the G650ER. Gulfstream also offers aircraft ownership services via Gulfstream Pre-Owned Aircraft Sales.
