A golf day held over the weekend in Bahrain to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Bahrain-British relations in 2016 was hailed a success by the event’s title sponsor.
The event was organised by the Bahrain British Business Forum (BBBF) last Friday at the Royal Golf Club with Euro Motors, the dealer for British luxury automotive manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover, as its title sponsor.
As many as 25 teams took part in the BBBF Corporate Social Golf Day on Friday with 100 members playing in a Texas Scramble format.
British Ambassador Simon Martin was among the participants.
As title sponsor, Euro Motors Jaguar Land Rover offered a Jaguar XE to the winner of a hole-in-one, while also taking part in the tournament with a four-member team.
Euro Motors also displayed the all-new Jaguar F-Pace, the Jaguar F-Type, the Range Rover Sport and the Discovery Sport, giving spectators, players and guests the opportunity to experience the allure of the cars first-hand with an added option of booking test drives.
To add to the festive nature, Euro Motors Jaguar Land Rover provided prizes to the winners in the form of vouchers for passenger drives to the adrenaline pumping off-road course, the Land Rover Experience Bahrain at Bahrain International Circuit.
Paul Yates, the General Manager of Euro Motors Jaguar Land Rover, said: “On behalf of Euro Motors Jaguar Land Rover, I would like to express my immense honour and sincerest pleasure at having been given the opportunity to sponsor the BBBF Corporate Social Golf Day as it highlights the strong relationship that is shared between both Bahrain and Britain, and in the same vein, Euro Motors and Jaguar Land Rover. We represent two of the world’s most recognisable and reputable marques in Jaguar and Land Rover and to complement their proud heritage, we also have an illustrious history that goes back decades and hence, we are the embodiment of the deep-rooted bond shared between our two countries.”
“In line with the longstanding bilateral relations and mutual co-operation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UK that spans over two centuries, the Al Zayani family, proprietors of Euro Motors, also harbours good relations that were established back in 1949, when they became one of the first distributors of Land Rover in the region. Solid cooperation, distinguished bonds and excellent services justified Jaguar Land Rover’s trust in the family and Euro Motors was consequently also appointed as the exclusive Importer and distributor for Jaguar in Bahrain in 2013, thereby taking us one step further in our pursuit of perfection.”
