Italy’s Overmarine Group has sold a second 42-m steel and aluminium yacht from its long-range Mangusta Oceanco series.
The sale of the second Mangusta Oceano 42 came just a very few days before the first one was launched earlier this month.
Group Commercial Director Francesco Frediani said: “When we decided to enter a different market segment to the one in which we have been a leading figure and undisputed leader for many years, we were convinced and also fully aware of the fact we’d be able to play a key role on this market. This further sale, and the interest the model has aroused even before its presentation at the September boat shows, confirm we are clearly on the right track.”
Designed by Alberto Mancini, Mangusta Oceano 42 is a beautifully modern, elegant yacht that expresses her proportions through a mixture of sharp, taut lines combined with softer sections.
Mancini’s approach was to create a yacht which would allow those aboard to fully experience the sea, creating as few barriers as possible between owners and guests and their surrounding environment. Everything onboard converses with the great outdoors: huge windows in the salon let in copious amounts of natural light, and the glazed transparencies in other areas light them too, increasing the perception of space.
The yacht features a careful blend of design elements, an in-depth study of the lighting system and new concepts for this kind of yacht. The external area of the deck at bow has been designed with two separate sunbathing areas which immerse themselves into a swimming-pool with an infinity effect waterfall. The glazing on the bottom of the swimming-pool lets light into the owner suite head located on the underlying deck, creating semi-transparent light. Astern, on the other hand, the hatch opens out to create a platform over the sea featuring a specially furnished beach area.
This all comes together to make a yacht with an unmistakeable design as is indeed Mangusta tradition. Painstaking attention has been paid to comfort, including noise levels, stability both at anchor and under way, and the use of the latest technologies and materials.
The interiors have been designed to accommodate up to twelve guests and seven crew members on board, whilst ensuring total privacy and freedom of movement.
The yacht will be ready in 2017.
Overmarine builds fast maxi open yachts bearing the Mangusta brand, and luxury displacement yachts under the Mangusta GranSport and Mangusta Oceano brands.
