Banyan Tree will open Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay, Morocco’s first all-inclusive pool villa resort and first destination spa resort on September 1, 2016.
Banyan Tree’s inaugural venture in the Mediterranean and Africa features 92 luxury pool villas, all with awe-inspiring views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Combining Moroccan charm with a refreshing Mediterranean spirit, the resort is perfect for couples and families, says a release.
Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay opens up a new destination to discerning travellers seeking a rich cultural adventure to beautiful historic towns, quiet unspoiled beaches, and exhilarating outdoor activities, it says.
Offering the largest and most private resort-villas in Morocco, each beautifully-designed villa pays homage to the rich local architecture and design found across the region. Ranging from 200 to 423 sq m, each villa comes complete with a lush garden and private pool, whilst some villas have direct access to the beach.
The only resort in the region to offer a Destination Dining experience - choose from a relaxed dinner by the beach, or a Moroccan feast under a traditional tent. With four restaurants and 24-hour in-villa dining, guests can also enjoy savoury Moroccan delicacies, Mediterranean-inspired seafood dishes and international favourites.
Delivering Banyan Tree’s world-renowned, Asian-inspired spa tradition using a "high touch, low tech" approach, skilled Banyan Tree therapists deliver total relaxation and rejuvenation.
This opulent new spa features six Deluxe Treatment Rooms, two Royal Treatment Rooms, a Hydro and Vitality Pool, Hammam and a special Yoga Room.
A variety of water sport activities will be available for guests to enjoy. Thrill seekers can go scuba diving, wakeboarding, jet-skiing or go in search of whales and dolphins who frequent the bay; whilst adventure lovers can hike into the Rif Mountains or venture to nearby Cabo Negro; renowned for its sandy beaches for horseback riding.
There is also something for golfing enthusiasts with a choice of two superb courses nearby; the Cabo Negro Royal Golf club in Tetouan, or the Tangier Royal Golf club, both located in the beautiful foothills of the Rif Mountains.
There are several beautiful towns and villages, rich in culture and heritage within a few hours’ drive of the resort.
Tucked deep in the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is widely regarded as one of the prettiest towns in Morocco. A 90 minute drive from the resort, this town is known as the ‘Blue Town’ due to its distinctive blue and white buildings and fiery red roof tiles.
In addition, guests can also visit Tetouan. Locally known as the “White Dove”, the Medina of Tetouan, a Unesco World Heritage Site and 20 minutes from the resort, is a charming town with an illustrious history. Tangier, 60 minutes from resort, is another option with its famed medina, Kasbah (old fortress), bazaars and souks.
