Montblanc has appointed Eric Vergnes as President of the luxury maison’s newly expanded region, incorporating the Middle East, India and Africa.
Based in Dubai, UAE, Vergnes will be responsible for Montblanc’s operations across these geographies, collaborating with key partners and driving the brand in the region.
A veteran in luxury retail, Vergnes brings more than 20 years’ management, finance, commerce and marketing experience to his role. Prior to joining Montblanc, Vergnes held leadership positions with LVMH Watch & Jewelry as General Manager Middle East and Vice President South East Asia.
In his new role at Montblanc, Vergnes will be responsible for leading Montblanc’s Middle East-based regional team with an expanded remit that now includes India and Africa. This will include engaging with distributors and partners in the region, covering more than 50 countries, and continuing to drive the growth of the maison’s portfolio that includes writing instruments, timepieces, leather goods, jewellery and accessories.
Commenting on his appointment, Vergnes said: “This is an exciting time to be joining Montblanc. I am looking forward to building on the success of the Middle East office, which has established exceptional brand loyalty and market growth for the maison, and delivering the same success across the new territories in our region.
“While its heritage began with its iconic writing instruments that enjoy market leadership to this day, Montblanc’s commitment to fine watchmaking, leather craftsmanship and the creation of distinctive jewellery and accessories has established the maison as a purveyor of luxury goods that are true lifetime companions – across all cultures and countries around the world.”
