AMAC Aerospace has returned to service four aircraft after maintenance work as well as an Airbus A320 which has been refurbished and renovated to the very highest standards under a VIP completions contract.
In addition, new maintenance contracts on two Boeing B737s have been signed, the Swiss-based MRO and completions specialist revealed.
Among the maintenance contracts completed, a private Airbus A319 was delivered after a heavy base maintenance input. The aircraft, which was outfitted and delivered by AMAC in 2012, underwent a maintenance programme that included a C-Check. The VIP cabin was partially removed and accessed by AMAC’s highly specialised engineers. The aircraft was delivered on time within a challenging ground time in order to fulfil the operational requirements of the customer, AMAC says.
Maintenance work also done on two Gulfstream G450 jets, which were changing hands to a new owner and operator.
AMAC’s design organisation covered new cabin placards and an engineering order for a new exterior paint livery while its maintenance and logistics organisation fulfilled all the registration change requirements within a short downtime in order to minimise the customer’s operational costs.
During the registration change and defect rectification process AMAC’s specialised Gulfstream team performed all due maintenance work. AMAC sent the two aircraft for exterior painting to its partner, which is working under AMAC’s quality handbook according to AMAC’s standards.
AMAC Aerospace is auditing all selected paint facilities and is monitoring the paint work and is further providing Part 145 maintenance activities along through the paint work (balancing of flight controls, aircraft weighing and release to service).
The fourth maintenance job was on a Boeing B737 NG from a Middle East customer, which was delivered on time and within budget after a C-Check in conjunction with a partial cabin removal and various aesthetical repairs.
“We are pleased that our customers appreciate our high standards and our long-term business relationships that we have at AMAC Aerospace,” said Alexis Ott, Senior Manager Sales & Key Account, AMAC Aerospace.
VIP COMPLETION
AMAC Aerospace’s latest A320 VIP completions project was for new customer. The aircraft was previously used as an airliner and was brought to AMAC after it was sold to a private owner.
The cabin was completely removed and is now decorated with the highest levels of custom furniture, decorative inlays, hand-made VIP carpet, a master bedroom with an en-suite lavatory as well as two VIP lavatory and high-end technical support systems.
Ten new single VIP seats and four new VIP divans convertible into beds have been installed inside the cabin whereas the remaining economy class seats have been refurbished.
All three VIP lavatories include a foot washer which was developed and installed by AMAC’s skilled engineers and craftsmen. A new Satcom system, and a CMS (cabin management system) associated to a digital IFE (inflight entertainment) system including zoom and quad cameras have been installed to enable the highest standards of technical support on the A320.
Various service bulletins including the installation of two additional fuel tanks were carried out within a very challenging ground time.
“This is another great success story in the history of AMAC which we reached with the efforts, continuing support, professional work and the team spirit of our highly skilled experts. The VIP A320 completion project was delivered on time and within budget. We are extremely happy with the end result and we relish the opportunity to take on our next completion project and to further strengthen our excellent position within the market,” said Bernd Schramm, Group Chief Operating Officer, AMAC Aerospace.
AMAC has also signed two maintenance contracts on two Boeing B737 aircraft which will undergo an annual check. AMAC was to receive first aircraft by the end of last month, with the second to be inducted this month at its facility in Basel.
