A luxury eight-bedroom residence billed as London’s largest lateral apartment is up for rent for a record £25,000 ($32,500) per week.
Leading prime London estate agent Harrods Estates is offering the apartment, which provides 7,763 sq ft of accommodation including eight bedrooms, eight reception rooms and nine bathrooms.
Beautifully refurbished the apartment is spread across one level in the desirable The Bromptons development in Chelsea.
The spectacular apartment was originally designed as four separate properties, however, the purchaser decided to knock them into one super lateral apartment; creating what Harrods Estates says is the largest lateral apartment on just one floor in prime London.
The lateral space, combined with high ceilings and original historic detailing, leaves nothing to be desired, it says.
The apartment features a grand entrance hall, with a series of reception, dining and entertaining rooms and modern kitchen, ideal for parties or family gatherings. The generous bedrooms each include en-suite bathrooms finished with marble and fitted wardrobes. The master bedroom suite benefits from a bespoke shoe rack, capable of holding 500 pairs of shoes, a separate walk in wardrobe and a vast en-suite bathroom, finished in marble and gold.
The turnkey property is beautifully finished in a modern design with luxury finishes such as 24-karat lined ceilings, bespoke joinery, solid wood flooring, marble bathrooms and comfort cooling. The versatile space is ideal for a large family or can be divided up into separate quarters for guests.
The Bromptons is a gated development which provides underground parking, 24-hour concierge and security, luxury spa, gym and communal gardens.
The Bromptons, Rose Square, was formerly The Brompton Hospital, built entirely on charitable endeavour and designed by architect Frederick Francis in a red brick gothic design.
Sir Philip Rose was the driving force behind the construction for the hospital. Who, when diagnosed with tuberculosis at age 24, found that there was no hospital in London willing to treat him and went on to set up a committee dedicated to opening a hospital which treated diseases of the chest.
The foundation stone for the building was laid by Prince Albert in June 1844 and the ceremony was followed by a fund raising bazaar sponsored by Queen Victoria in the gardens of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea. The hospital opened in 1844 and a separate chapel was built in 1849.
In 1997, Northacre, a residential development undertook the restoration and conversion of the building, transforming it into a luxury residential address. The company went to extremes in order to create a perfect harmony between the original design and character of the building whilst achieving the highest standard for today's lifestyle.
The quality of workmanship and the materials used have resulted in The Bromptons standing out as one of the finest recent residential developments in London, says Harrods.
Ed Woolgar, Head of Residential Lettings at Harrods Estates, comments: “This is a rare opportunity to live in one of central London’s most desirable developments. The exclusive The Bromptons is highly sought after and apartments of this size in London rarely become available. We expect that the tenant of this beautiful apartment will be a family who are looking for an address which provides a fantastic lifestyle in an exceptional location.”
The apartment in Rose Square is priced at £25,000 per week and is available for long term lets.
