Huawei new flagship-killer smartphone will go on sale across the Middle East from next month at a price of under $450.
The honor8 smartphone, which is a new and improved version of the Huawei P9, will be launched on September 5.
It is now available for pre-order on HonorArabia.com.
The honor 8 has a 5.2-inch 1080 pixel display, dual 12 MP rear cameras (one monochrome, one colour), an 8 MP front camera with flash, and USB-C.
Other specs include the Huawei Kirin 950 big.LITTLE octa-core chip running with four cores at 2.3 GHz and another four at 1.8 GHz, and 4 GB of DDR4 RAM, an extra gigabyte compared with the P9.
The phone comes in 32GB or 64GB models with a slot for a 256-GB micro SD card.
Chris Sun Baigong, VP of Huawei honor Middle East CBG said: “By listening to our end-users and paying attention to the smallest details, we have taken the holistic approach and created something truly distinctive. honor 8 has a design that is beautifully stylish coupled with excellent usability, an essential aspect that contributes to its outstanding day-to-day user experience.”
George Zhao, president of Huawei honor, said: “After three years of developing the brand worldwide, honor has matured and gained acknowledgement for focusing on our end-users and product quality first and foremost over revenue, which are the strategic winning points for the brand. The latest launch of our flagship honor 8 reflects this approach, and we are confident in its success with our end-users, as well as our growth as a brand this year - so stay tuned.”
The website shows a pre-order price of AED1599 ($435).
No news as yet whether luxury firms will be offering high-end versions of this smartphone.
