Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled a new collection of high jewellery to commemorate the 73rd Venice International Film Festival, which got under way yesterday.
This is the 12th consecutive year that the Swiss firm is a partner for the festival, which runs until September 10.
Venice inspires the manufacture’s master craftsmen with its unique charm and history and Jaeger-LeCoultre has contributed to the city’s cultural riches by participating in the restoration of the Scuola Grande di San Rocco.
The festival also gives Jaeger-LeCoultre the opportunity to pay tribute to cinema directors’ creative genius by conferring its ‘Glory to the Filmmaker’ award.
The new pieces comprise the Reverso One High Jewellery white gold, the white gold Rendez-Vous Moon watch and the Rendez-Vous Secret white gold watch.
Exuding femininity with a light-infused gem setting, the Reverso One High Jewellery white gold watch draws inspiration from the first ladies’ Reverso watches of the 1930s, adorning the female wrist like a true piece of jewellery.
This jewellery watch is adorned with baguette-cut diamonds and set with all the expertise of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s master jewellers. The dial is surrounded by three rows of diamonds, reproducing the Reverso’s emblematic gadroons. The horns of the watch have two different finishes, giving rise to rays of light that accompany the turning of the case.
The slightly rounded Arabic numerals, seemingly drawn by hand, are gracefully distributed around the mother-of-pearl dial. The smoothness of the surface is highlighted by the purity of the diamonds around the dial’s perimeter.
The Duetto concept equips the watch with an alternate face on the reverse side. On a black aventurine dial, with a sprinkling of stardust scattered over its depths, diamonds trace out the perimeter of the hour and minute display, sparkling like rays of sunlight.
The white gold Rendez-Vous Moon watch brings together the jewellery and watchmaking expertise of the Jaeger-LeCoultre craftsmen to present women with a jewellery piece worthy of the heavens.
Full of mystery and crafted in mother-of-pearl, the moon is revealed in a wide display at 6 o’clock. In the centre of a starry sky, it transmits the most delicate reflections, to the delight of romantic dreamers everywhere.
Like a midsummer night sky, the grand feu and paillonné enamel dial reveals thousands of stars. The master enameller has scattered minuscule chips of silver throughout the surface to create this heavenly impression. Hand-painted ivy leaves seem to creep into the sky, like a symbol of eternal love.
Evoking the shining stars above, brilliant-cut diamonds set the bezel, lugs, and case’s crowns. A star that can slide around the dial, adjustable via one of the watch’s crowns, indicates the time of your next rendezvous.
A prized treasure created by jeweller-craftsmen, the Rendez-Vous Secret white gold watch is inspired by a Jaeger-LeCoultre model from the 1960s. The timepiece showcases the maison’s miniaturisation skills behind the union of mother-of-pearl and precious gemstones.
Like a flower with white and pink petals, the watch’s cover is abloom in marquise-cut diamonds, pink sapphires, and brilliant-cut rubies. Two rows of brilliant-cut diamonds make up the bracelet that gracefully fits around the wearer’s wrist.
A secret watch, it securely guards the mystery of time under its cover. The cover gently opens to give a glimpse of the time on the dial. Ivy leaves are depicted on the dial, as though transfixed in mother-of-pearl. A symbol of eternal love, they transmit their shimmering reflections around the emblematic numerals of the Rendez-Vous line.
