JFA Yachts is showing off an eco-friendly explorer yacht at the Cannes Yachting Festival, which is currently under way in France.
The 38-m Arcana concept was developed by Hansen Marine Exploration and designed by Horacio Bozzo’s Axis Group Yacht Design.
The Arcana is an ecofriendly, seaworthy long-range cruising motor yacht for the exploration of remote, pristine or sensitive marine areas.
The yacht, which runs on diesel-electric power and has a steel and aluminium hull, meets the most stringent requirements and notations in terms of environmental protection, emissions, noise, vibrations, comfort, stability and fuel efficiency, according to the builder.
It can operate on dynamic positioning mode and has the capability to safely carry and launch a three-passenger observation submarine such as the UboatWorx’s Superyacht3.
In addition, the Arcana concept provides for the exploration yacht to have all the luxury features of a superyacht and an elegant design away from the usual “workboat” style adopted by explorer yachts.
Arcana has a speed of 13 knots at maximum power and half load and a range of 4,000 nm at 10.0 knots. It can host up to 12 guests and seven crew.
The Cannes festival is being held at two French Riviera ports – Vieux Port and Port Pierre Canto – and runs until September 11.
The Arcana will also be on display at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show, which runs from September 28 to October 1.
