Jet Aviation recently installed its first inflight dishwasher, which was developed in-house to support all aircraft types, on a VIP jet.
The cutting-edge Aviation DishWasher ADW 600 was installed in Basel, Switzerland, on a VVIP Airbus 330-200ER and certified through the EASA Part-21 DOA minor modification approval process.
Unlike traditional industrial dishwashers that tend to have a short wash cycle but use corrosive chemicals, Jet Aviation’s ADW dishwasher boasts a three-minute wash cycle – and is compatible with a gentle, eco-friendly soap suitable for both silver and aluminium. It also significantly reduces the number of dishes required on board, provides additional storage space and can even be used to heat up dishes before serving meals.
“We are currently finalising development of the ADW 450, a lighter 450 mm-wide model, which will fit all mid- and super mid-size business jets,” says Johannes Turzer, senior vice president and general manager of Jet Aviation’s Maintenance Centre in Basel. “We developed the ADW in direct response to customer feedback and are very pleased to offer its design and technology improvements.”
The ADW can be installed during scheduled maintenance or combined with other refurbishments, modifications or upgrades at Jet Aviation’s MRO facility in Basel.
Jet Aviation Basel is a world-renowned completions and maintenance centre employing more than 1,600 professionals and a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics of the US.
