A penthouse on the top floor of the “best skyscraper in the Middle East” is on offer to investors for an asking price of $13.61 million.
The residence takes pride of place in the Cayan Tower in Dubai, UAE, which soars to a height of more than 1,000 feet and was this year voted the ‘Best Tall Building’ in the Middle East and Africa.
The tower was bestowed the tile by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) at its 2014 annual awards ceremony on November 6 in Chicago, US.
The Cayan Tower’s dynamic twisting shape challenges conventional architecture and redefines standards of luxury.
Designed by world-renowned Skidmore Owings and Merrill - known for projects such as the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the Trump Tower in Chicago, US, and Jin Mao in Shanghai, China, among many others - the tower is the tallest twisted skyscraper in the world.
Rising to a height of a 306 m (1,004 ft), the 73-storey residential tower spirals in a smooth curve by an astonishing 90 degrees and is situated in a key location at the heart of the Dubai Marina waterfront development in the city.
The rooms of the tower are designed in such a way that they are not affected by direct sunlight due to titanium metal panels on concrete columns, with repetitive staggered screen panels to stop penetrating sunlight from disturbing the residents.
The penthouse is fitted in a contemporary style and showcased with elegant yet unique furniture, according to Frank Knight, the broker for the residence.
It stretches over 10,900 sq ft and commands 360-degree views through floor-to-ceiling windows over landmarks including The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, Emirates Hills, the Burj Al Arab, Blue Water Island and The World islands.
There are a total of four large en-suite bedrooms, some with private balconies. The master bedroom includes its own private sitting room and direct access to the private pool. There is a large formal sitting room, fitted kitchen, living room and ‘his’ and ‘hers’ changing rooms beside the pool and terrace.
Gregory Lewis, senior negotiator at Knight Frank Dubai, says: “The location is arguably in one of the most recognisable residential towers in Dubai, and the expansive one-of-a-kind penthouse commands a superb position within the Dubai Marina, while occupying the entire top floor of the world’s tallest twisting tower.”
Headquartered in London, Knight Frank is a leading global property consultancy with offices in the UAE (Abu Dhabi, Dubai), Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
