Spring/Summer 2024
The aviation world will converge at the prestigious Farnborough International Airshow 2024 (FIA2024), where the latest in aviation technology and engineering will take center stage in July.
As the foremost aerospace and defence event globally, running from July 22 to 26, this gathering will mark historic partnerships and collaborative efforts toward a sustainable aerospace future.
Building upon the resounding success of its 2022 edition, which saw participation from over 74,000 professionals hailing from 102 countries and garnered significant global media attention, this year’s airshow promises to be even more groundbreaking. Organisers anticipate that it will serve as a beacon for the industry’s future, showcasing unparalleled innovation and representing the pinnacle of aviation excellence.
Industry titans such as Airbus, Boeing, Rolls-Royce, RTX, GKN, and GE Aviation are set to unveil their latest aircraft, innovations, and technologies at this illustrious event.
Gareth Rogers, CEO of Farnborough International, emphasises the airshow’s role as a catalyst for change, fostering excellence and innovation across the global aerospace and defence sectors.
“The Farnborough International Airshow is more than a five-day, biennial event – it’s a change agent, powering excellence and innovation across the global aerospace and defence industries.
“The interest from global businesses to exhibit and attend the airshow has been phenomenal, and reflects the incredible demand there is from leaders to showcase their technology at our imitable platform and revolutionise the next era of the industry. I look forward to welcoming the world’s biggest, best and brightest to Farnborough in July this year,” he says.
In line with the positive outlook for the aerospace industry, which is expecting commercial revenues to grow 14 per cent year-on-year, the forthcoming edition of the Farnborough International Airshow is reporting record-breaking demand for exhibition space, sponsorship packages and marketing activations. The show is set to reach new heights as the preeminent marketplace for an industry on an upwards trajectory, organisers say.
“At Farnborough International, we are ready to support the industry within this period of growth and act as a catalyst for positive, future-focused change that will steer the trajectory of aerospace, space and defence for the next decade. We are working tirelessly with the global aerospace industry to provide opportunities at the 2024 airshow and will be implementing a waitlist for those who are still keen to engage with the event,” Rogers remarks.
Aerospace Global Forum
The upcoming event heralds the return of the Aerospace Global Forum (AGF), an acclaimed platform dedicated to spearheading change and catalysing immediate action towards achieving a net-zero economy. AGF will feature high-profile keynote sessions by leaders from across the aerospace sector, focusing on sustainability and defence.
Attendees can expect a wealth of thought-provoking discussions, panel sessions, and insightful talks at the Space and FINN Theatres, along with the Global Urban Advanced Air Summit (GUAAS) on July 25. Additionally, the show will facilitate networking opportunities through the Business Connections Exchange programme, connecting buyers and investors with verified suppliers. The Business Lounge, sponsored by Lockheed Martin, will provide a conducive environment for fostering connections.
A highlight of the event is the “Pioneers of Tomorrow” day, scheduled for the final day, which aims to inspire and engage the next generation of aerospace, space, defence, and technology leaders, with a particular emphasis on STEM education.
Recognising the importance of digital engagement, Farnborough International is enhancing its digital presence, including live streaming capabilities, to augment the renowned show’s accessibility and reach for the 2024 edition.
FIA2024 will revolve around six key themes: Space, Defence, Sustainability, Innovation, Future Flight, and Workforce, each conveying a crucial message that resonates deeply within the aerospace industry.
Space Zone: The zone will once again be a prime spot at the Farnborough International Airshow offering exceptional opportunities to network with the leading innovators driving this growing sector.
Located within one of the site’s incredible sound stages, the Space Zone is the perfect location to showcase the pioneering companies working at the forefront of the space industry.
Defence: The airshow continues to play a vital role in bringing defence companies together with the strategic decision-makers. The latest technological advancements will be on display in the exhibition halls as well as outside in the flying and static displays. The return of the Delegations Programme in 2022 proved to be hugely popular as delegates were able to facilitate networking and business and so will continue for the 2024 edition.
Sustainability: Sustainability and the path to Net Zero continues to be a huge driving force at Farnborough, enabling world leaders and industry pioneers to come together and collaborate on the future of aviation. Visitors to FIA2024 will be able to attend thought-leading sessions dedicated to accelerating discussion on sustainability and focusing on the importance of collaboration across global sectors.
Innovation: FIA2024 acts as a platform for the latest and greatest innovations that are pioneering the future of aerospace. It provides a global platform to showcase the developments setting the agenda for the industry in the years ahead, discuss the challenges shaping the direction of the sector and debate the best course of action for some of the biggest questions facing aviation.
Future Flight: As the race to develop new future flight technologies accelerates, there is no question that our skies will soon be transformed through advancements in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) solutions. The Farnborough International Airshow 2024 provides a global platform to showcase the companies redefining and revolutionising the aerospace sector from those pioneers making AAM a reality, to the vital technological advancements being made in R&D and manufacturing.
