The St Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort will open on November 1 this year, offering the brand’s famed butler service to guests from the Gulf.
The property has 33 on-land villas and 44 overwater villas featuring private pools and personal St Regis Butler service.
The Arabian Gulf has proven to be a key source market for the Maldives, with a total of 41,976 tourists from the Middle East visiting in 2015.
“The Maldives is a high demand destination for the Middle East, with more than six flights arriving daily to the Maldives from the Arabian Gulf,” said Mark O'Sullivan, General Manager of the resort. “With the St Regis Maldives, we have a created a discreet escape that provides the perfect combination of privacy and luxury for these Gulf-based guests.”
The St. Regis Maldives offers a personal e-butler service prior to arrival and luxury airport transfer for the 45 minutes from Malé International Airport.
Uniquely, the resort is home to the the largest three-bedroom overwater villa in the Maldives – the John Jacob Astor Estate – with a total size of 1,540 sq m that features a two-storey main villa and two connecting lagoon villas.
The resort’s Vommuli House features a children’s club, socialite club for teenagers, exercise room, anti-gravity yoga studio, tennis court, salon, library, while an observatory tower features a boutique.
The resort also has a dive and water sports centre.
There are six F&B venues. These include the pop-out restaurant Cargo, The Whale Bar, an overwater bar, the pizza place Crust, the Italian restaurant Alba, and the fine-dining Decanter and Asian-themed Orientale restaurants.
The Iridium spa and exercise room features two ayurveda couple spa suites, four couple spa suites and the Blue Hole pool, said to be the only a heated seawater hydro jet pool in the Maldives. The experience is enriched with bespoke consultation with highly qualified doctors specialized in ayurveda, acupuncture, and an anti-gravity yoga instructor.
As part of the St Regis famed hallmarks of family traditions, the resort offers a range of amenities from child-sized robes and slippers and a step stool just for the little ones, to engaging activities. The St Regis Butlers provide 24-hour anticipatory service, customising each guest’s stay to their needs, tastes and preferences.
The resort stretches over nine hectares on the Vommuli Island of Dhaalu Atoll - one of the most unspoiled Atolls of Maldives and is surrounded by pristine landscapes, thick tropical vegetation, a fine white-sand beach, a brackish lagoon, and the glistening turquoise Indian Ocean.
A large ‘House Reef’ surrounds the island, which is defined by several distinct ecological zones: lagoon, beach, coastal, and jungle.
All of the resort’s accommodation and recreation activities are divided according to these zones.
