Spring/Summer 2024
OMEGA has extended its Speedmaster 38mm collection with models in both gold and steel, each with a sparking bezel paved with 52 diamonds, and a polished crown set with a diamond.
Presenting its luxurious new chronographs in their best light are brand ambassadors Kaia Gerber, Han So-hee, and Liu Shishi.
First launched in 2017, OMEGA’s Speedmaster 38mm collection offered OMEGA fans a luxurious take on the chronograph’s unmistakable look. Especially popular was the Speedmaster 38mm “Cappuccino” in 18K Sedna Gold, with horizontal brown oval subdials and vertical oval date window at 6 o’clock, a design inspired by the oval subdials featured on De Ville timepieces of the past.
This year, OMEGA has expanded the collection to include eight new models: two in OMEGA’s 18K Sedna Gold, two in 18K Moonshine Gold, and four in classic stainless steel with a choice of two striking dial colours.
In addition to a diamond-paved bezel, measured at approximately 1.5 carats, each watch has three diamond-ringed subdials. Even with their generous paving of precious stones, the watches remain Speedmaster to the core. OMEGA has stayed true to the look and legacy of its most iconic chronograph.
Sedna and precious stones
The 2024 additions include two models cased in OMEGA’s own 18K Sedna Gold, both featuring a brown PVD dial and horizontal oval subdials with silvery coating. The hour/minute hands, in diamond-polished 18K Sedna Gold, are filled with white Super-LumiNova which emits a green glow.
One model is presented on a polished and brushed 18K Sedna Gold bracelet with OMEGA’s patented comfort release adjust system. The other has a brown leather strap with 18K Sedna Gold foldover clasp buckle.
Moonshine and sparkle
OMEGA’s latest 18K Moonshine Gold models both feature a green PVD dial which includes horizontal oval subdials with silvery coating and a vertical oval date window at 6 o’clock. The hour/minute hands, in diamond-polished 18K Moonshine Gold, are filled with white Super-LumiNova which emits a green glow.
Fans of this Speedmaster 38mm can choose between a polished and brushed 18K Moonshine Gold bracelet with OMEGA’s patented comfort release adjust system, and a green leather strap with 18K Moonshine Gold foldover clasp buckle.
Metallic classics
OMEGA is offering fans of classic stainless steel four new editions. There are two PVD dial colours, brown and green, and a choice of fixtures: a bracelet with OMEGA’s patented comfort release adjust system, or a matching leather strap with stainless steel folodover clasp.
Common to all are horizontal oval subdials with silvery coating, a vertical oval date window at 6 o’clock, and diamond-polished rhodium-plated hour/minute hands filled with white Super-LumiNova.
Caseback and calibre
All the sparkling models have a screw-in caseback stamped with a Seahorse medallion, a nod to the distinguished history of the Speedmaster. Providing the power is an official certified chronometer: OMEGA Co-Axial Calibre 3330. A self-winding chronograph with column-wheel mechanism, Co-Axial escapement and free-sprung-balance equipped with Si14 silicon balance spring.
Design inspiration
From the start, the goal was to turn heads, by emphasising the luxury effect, with fully polished cases and sparkling diamond-paved bezels, measured at approximately 1.5 carats, says the luxury watchmaker. For the dials, OMEGA’s designers took their cues from the look of legacy models, such as the green dial of the 42 mm Moonwatch in Moonshine Gold and the brown dial of the De Ville Chocolate, which was a great success a few years ago.
