Ekka Yachts has announced the order of the first unit of a new series of Explorer Yachts and the largest Sanlorenzo explorer yacht to be commissioned to date.
The new 1150EXP will be an Explorer prototype design by Zuccon International Project between 1150 and 1200 gross tons and will measure 60+ metres in length by 11.20m in overall beam. Her design spans across five decks, with unique privacy features never found before on a Sanlorenzo superyacht, Ekka Yachts said.
A glass elevator will connect four out of five decks, and the master residence will span throughout the top two decks. Touch-and-go heli-landing capabilities will be offered on the bow-deck, and a recessed 7.5t crane located aft will allow a large (10m+) chase boat to be loaded onboard for long passages. All other toys (including a 7.5m main tender) will be neatly stored in a garage located in the bow section, below the heli-deck.
A full-scale beach club with opening terraces and a spa will be located on the lower deck aft and a glass bottom pool on the aft quarterdeck will flood the beach club with additional natural light.
Accommodation will be for 14 guests in six to seven staterooms. The entire main deck will be dedicated for indoor/outdoor entertainment and formal dining. Crew accommodation will be for 14-15 members.
The yacht will be built to Lloyds class for commercial operation and will be offered for charters upon her delivery. Her project management will be a collaboration between Ekka Yachts and her experienced Greek owner’s team that has previously commissioned a new-build superyacht with Sanlorenzo.
This is Ekka Yachts’ fourth metal superyacht order with Sanlorenzo in the last three years, including two 500EXP and one 44 Alloy.
“We are thrilled to have secured such an important order for Sanlorenzo, which marks our biggest new-build to date and Sanlorenzo’s biggest Explorer Yacht order ever. We are grateful to the commissioning owner for having entrusted our brokerage services for the second time, and for demonstrating vision and determination to embark on this project after months of commercial and technical negotiations with the builder,” said Dimitris Kyriazakos, Managing Director, Ekka Yachts.
