The Associazione MonteNapoleone of Milan, Italy's fashion capital, has launched an exclusive VIP Lounge for wealthy shoppers.
Located in Via MonteNapoleone, the heart of Milan's Quadrilateral fashion district, the MonteNapoleone VIP Lounge is said to be the first of its kind in the world in terms of the services offered.
"Our goal is to offer elite travellers a personalised luxury concierge service that includes transporting their luggage directly to the airport and assistance in securing tax rebates," says Guglielmo Miani, president of Associazione MonteNapoleone.
The lounge can cater to any request through an efficient network of professionals, says Miani. Reservations for events such as premieres, charity galas and fundraisers, fashion shows, soccer matches, car races, theater shows, concerts and much more can also be arranged by the lounge, as well as an interpreter service.
Access to the VIP Lounge is by invitation. Boutiques will be able to offer the service to VIP customers, while hotels, airlines, and luxury tour operators will also be invited to offer the service in conjunction with other services and products.
The VIP Lounge’s services are provided in association with Ferrari Shipments, a market leader in the delivery of jewellery and luxury goods.
The 1,600-sq-ft lounge is built on two levels and includes different relaxation areas and a fitting room for a personalised shopping experience.
Guests will be given vouchers with which they can store their luggage and shopping free of charge for three days per voucher (for two people), with no limit to the number of parcels they store.
VIP Lounge staff will be on hand to bid adieu to their guests at Milano Malpensa and Linate airports, while a dedicated person will provide VIP assistance for customs clearance and VAT refunds, helping them avoid any queues.
Associazione MonteNapoleone represents the interests of the world’s major luxury brands by promoting the local economy while creating value for its more than 140 members.
Tax-free shopping showed a 15 per cent growth in 2015 compared to the previous year at the Quadrilateral, which encompasses Via MonteNapoleone and its branches Via Verri, Via Sant’Andrea, Via Santo Spirito, Via Bagutta and Via Borgospesso.
Chinese were the top spenders in 2015, representing nearly 33 per cent, followed by Russians (14 per cent), Americans (6 per cent), Hong Kong residents (4.4 percent) and Saudi Arabians (2.22 per cent). The overall average purchase is more than €1,500 ($1,651).
