Italian jeweller Damiani had a role to play in Inferno, the new international blockbuster, directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks alongside Felicity Jones and Danish actress Sidse Babett Knudsen.
On the big screen, the maison’s jewels are used by Knudsen, winner of the latest César Award.
Damiani says its creations “accentuate the elegance, charm and talent of Knudsen, helping to define the character she plays”.
Achieved through a special technique to provide lightness and harmony to the volumes, the creations chosen for the movie, partly taken from the Gomitolo collection, are true works of art to wear, it adds.
After The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons, Inferno is Howard's third sequel based on Dan Brown's successful novels.
Hanks reinterprets his role as Robert Langdon, a professor of symbology who awakens in a hospital room in Florence, Italy, with amnesia, when he suddenly finds himself involved in a ruthless manhunt. With the help of Dr Sienna Brooks, played by Jones, and the involvement of Elizabeth Sinskey, director of the World Health Organization, played by Knudsen, Langdon has to solve an intricate riddle to save humanity from the threat of an induced epidemic.
“After Angels & Demons this is the second time that Damiani has worked with Ron Howard. The movie's spectacular photography evokes deep emotions, thus enhancing Damiani's creations, which play a leading role in their own right. This is not the first time that our company has portrayed feminine elegance on a movie set, but the emotions experienced as part of a project of this importance are always extraordinary," says Silvia Damiani, Vice President of the Damiani Group.
The new thriller premièred in Florence earlier this month and is now playing at cinemas worldwide, including the Gulf.
