The Sheraton Oman has reopened following an extensive and transformative renovation.
Built in 1985, the property is the tallest and one of the most iconic hotels in the heart of Ruwi, the financial and business hub of Muscat.
The property has 230 modern, spacious rooms, outfitted with the Sheraton brand’s signature amenities and services. These include 38 Sheraton Club rooms, with access to the Sheraton Club lounge, offering complimentary wi-fi, daily breakfast, a premium selection of beverages and hors d’oeuvres.
Its 27 suites, meanwhile, showcase interiors with a distinctive touch of Omani culture and a panoramic view of the Al Hajar mountain range.
In-house dining facilities include all-day dining Courtyard and the Asado South American Steakhouse.
The renovation of the hotel reflects the brand’s approach to an elevated and customised design and further reinforces Sheraton as a trusted voice in global travel.
With more than 30 years of hospitality experience, Thomas van Opstal will lead the team at the Sheraton Oman as General Manager, after previously holding similar positions at Sheraton properties in Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Singapore, Riyadh and Karachi.
“Sheraton Oman Hotel has been an integral part of the Omani hospitality landscape for more than three decades and are delighted to reopen doors and welcome guests back to enjoy hospitality and world-class service in a fresh innovative ambience,” the new General Manager Thomas van Opstal said.
Opstal was previously the general manager at Sheraton properties in Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Singapore, Riyadh and Karachi.
Sheraton Oman Hotel is owned by Al Hashar Hotels, under the umbrella of Al Hashar Group, and in association with Twenty14 Holdings.
