Swiss watchmaker Roger Dubuis yesterday opened an exhibition of its iconic skeletonised movements and latest models in Dubai, UAE.
The Astral Skeleton Exhibition is being held at the Dubai Mall and runs until November 16.
The mall is also home to one of the three Roger Dubuis boutiques in this region.
As the principal hub of one of its most important markets, Dubai was the obvious choice for Roger Dubuis to host the exhibition, the Geneva-based manufacture says.
Created exclusively for Dubai, the Astral Skeleton Exhibition invites guests and fine watchmaking aficionados alike to embark on a journey through time and space as interpreted by Roger Dubuis.
The exhibition consists of five architectural spaces defined by the signature star shape reflecting that of the manufacture’s iconic skeleton movements.
One highlight of the event is the latest Roger Dubuis “Incredible Calibres” Virtual Reality Experience, providing a remarkable opportunity to enjoy a journey enhancing the architectural and technical mechanics of its pioneering contemporary skeleton movements.
This interstellar voyage through time and space enable an immersive discovery of the precision techniques and skills showing off the maison’s signature calibres: the Double and Single Flying Tourbillon Skeleton - RD01SQ and RD505SQ - and the Automatic Skeleton – RD820SQ.
Alongside this sensorial 3D virtual reality experience, the exhibition also offers visitors the first Middle East opportunity to enjoy an up-close and personal look at some of the finest new creations unveiled at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva in January 2016.
These include the Blossom Velvet Pink and Excalibur Automatic Skeleton Carbon, vividly expressing the distinctive DNA of the maison and representing outstanding examples of its consistently avant-garde design skills and.
Those two timepieces made their regional debut yesterday and are now available at the Roger Dubuis Boutique in the Mall.
