Independent Swiss family-run luxury watchmaker H Moser & Cie yesterday unveiled a special Dubai edition at the Dubai Watch Week (DWW).
“H Moser & Cie created the Venturer XL Concept Dubai Edition in tribute to our long-standing partnership with luxury retailer Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, said CEO Eduard Meylan.
A celebration of the friendship and shared values which unite the firms, the new watch is the product of their collaboration and joins the H Moser & Cie Concept Series.
Convinced that true luxury has no need for logos or obvious marketing symbols, the manufacture has continued its minimalist approach with the new Venturer watch, which has a steel case and new ice-blue fumé dial in blue and white.
The Venturer XL Concept Dubai Edition is a limited to only nine pieces and is priced at Dh59,000 ($16,000).
The clean lines and design inspired by the company’s antique pocket watches enhance the pure beauty of the Concept’s dial. Measuring 43 mm in diameter, this model’s steel case is finished with a curved sapphire crystal, typical of the convex shapes of the 1960s.
“The bezel gives the impression of opening up the dial with characteristic finesse, highlighting this new dial colour developed in partnership with Mohammed Abdulmagied Sediqqi. The white and blue fumé colours blend artfully into each other,” he said.
The manufacture's new time-only Endeavour Concept Cosmic Green watch also made its Middle East debut at the DWW. The watch is also limited to 20 pieces.
Moser is an integrated watch producer and every watch is built and finished by hand.
“Innovation, creativity and quality are all characteristics at the core of H Moser & Cie spirit. As a prestigious manufacture, design, development and production are all carried out in-house for our watch movements,” said Meylan.
The company in fact provides hairsprings, the heartbeat of a watch, to 25 Swiss brands, he said.
The company produces around 1,000 watches a year and prides itself on being independent.
“This allows us to do whatever we want,” said Meylan.
