Officine Panerai, in collaboration with its partner Asia Jewellers, is exhibiting its latest iconic creations at the Jewellery Arabia exhibition in Bahrain in a magnificent booth that reflects the subtle Italian luxury identity of the brand.
Among the collection on display is a very special wristwatch: the Luminor 1950 Equation of Time 8 Days GMT. The watch stimulates the imagination and provides the subtle pleasure from being in touch with the centuries-old history of high quality watchmaking: the equation of time, that is, the measurement of the difference between actual time and the conventional time used in everyday life.
It is a classic complication of haute horlogerie, which harks back to the ancient link between time measurement and astronomy.
The watch is equipped by the new P.2002/E movement, a hand-wound calibre with a power reserve of eight days, developed and produced in Panerai’s manufacture in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
This new creation is presented in two versions, differing from each other in the colour of the alligator strap and the dial, which may be either an intense brown (PAM00656) or a fascinating metallic blue (PAM00670).
Watch enthusiasts and collectors are invited to visit the Panerai stand, located at stand number 17 in Hall number 1 under Asia Jewellers booth at Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Officine Panerai was founded in Florence in 1860 as a watch-making establishment, shop and school; for years it supplied the Italian Navy with precision timepieces, particularly to cover the needs of the special underwater diving corps.
The projects it worked on at the time, including the Luminor and Radiomir watches, were covered by the military secrets act for years and Panerai watches were launched on the international market after the Richemont group purchased the brand in 1997.
Today, Officine Panerai develops and manufactures its watches and movements in Neuchâtel, combining Italian design and history with Swiss watch-making know-how.
