The UK’s only dedicated business aviation airport and a key gateway to London, TAG Farnborough Airport is promoting its bespoke services and state-of-the-art facilities at the MEBAA Show in Dubai, UAE.
The airport has witnessed has been a year-on-year increase in air traffic movement of 1.5 per cent at in 2016 to date. This includes a 7.4 per cent increase in the number of airliner-derived (50-80 tons maximum take-off weight) business jets in comparison to 2015.
Many of these aircraft operate to and from the US, Asia and the Middle East. Often carrying larger groups of passengers the airports’ new terminal facilities are well equipped to comfortably accommodate these customers.
From the Middle East, there has been an increase of 7.8 per cent in traffic year-on-year (November 2015-2016).
TAG Farnborough Airport has achieved ISO 14001 for its commitment to environmental management. ISO 14001 is an international standard that sets out requirements for an effective environment management system. It is designed to assist businesses, including airports, evaluate and reduce the environmental impact of their operations.
Last month, the airport was also presented with a Silver 'Green Apple Award' by The Green Organisation. The Green Apple Environment Awards, is an annual international campaign designed to recognise and encourage environmental best practice around the world. TAG Farnborough Airport received the Silver Award in recognition of its commitment to reducing environmental impact and continuous improvement through best practice. In particular, the award acknowledges the innovative sustainable staff travel plan which encourages employees at the airport to adopt low or zero-carbon travel such as cycling, the use of public transport and car sharing. Additionally the scheme addresses staff movement around the airport site through investment in company electric vehicles, e-bikes and more traditional pedal bikes.
TAG Farnborough Airport has earned top honours in the annual Aviation International News (AIN) International FBO Survey for 2016 and was named ‘Best European FBO’ in the 2016 Pro Pilot PRASE survey for the eleventh year in a row.
AIN’s respondents also identified the airport’s reception team as employees that routinely go above and beyond when it comes to customer service.

IMPROVED CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
TAG Farnborough Airport has invested an additional £1 million ($1.28 million) to create more space for passengers and crew at its terminal building. Development of its award-winning infrastructure includes a new lounge, accommodating up to 80 passengers, designed to create a homely atmosphere. Customers can also enjoy unique views of the airfield from a gallery seating area. Other distinctive features include a TopBrewer coffee machine which can be operated via an iPad, as well as a fuselage clock, coffee table and exhaust lamp custom made from vintage aircraft parts. The airport has also introduced additional crew facilities such as a quiet lounge and ‘snooze’ room equipped with flat beds and a zero-gravity ergonomic chair, as well as a complimentary gymnasium and shower facilities in a separate building adjacent to the main terminal.
TAG Farnborough Airport is at Stand #482 at the MEBAA Show, which is organised by the Middle East and North Africa Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) and runs from today until December 8 at the Airshow site in Dubai South (Dubai World Central).
