Boeing Business Jets announced the sale of the first BBJ Max 7 yesterday at the MEBAA Show in Dubai, UAE.
The BBJ Max 7 was ordered by an undisclosed customer based in the Asia Pacific region.
“The BBJ Max 7 is an exceptional business jet and we know our customers will be thrilled with the airplane,” said David Longridge, President, Boeing Business Jets. “The 7,000 mile range will connect key city pairings that were previously not possible in a BBJ and increased cabin and cargo space makes this an unbeatable business jet.”
The BBJ Max 7 is longer than the original BBJ, providing more space in the cabin while also creating additional volume for cargo in the lower lobe. In addition, because of its new, more fuel-efficient LEAP-1B engines, the BBJ Max 7 has reduced fuel burn and emissions and requires less cargo volume be reserved for auxiliary fuel tanks, no matter what the mission length.
“The BBJ Max 7 inherits all of the features of the already launched BBJ Max 8 and BBJ Max 9, including an updated flight deck, improved aerodynamics and a reduced noise profile. Despite being larger and more capable than the current BBJ, the new Max 7 has the lowest operating costs of any Boeing Business Jets aircraft.
Boeing Business Jets has 12 BBJ Max jets on order; with one BBJ Max 7, ten BBJ Max 8s and one BBJ Max 9.
Organised by the Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA), the biennial three-day MEBAA Show runs until tomorrow at the airshow site in Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai South (Dubai World Central).
