Italian yacht builder Wider has sold a Wider 150 just two months after its world premiere at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show.
The sale comes hot on the heels of the recent sale of the first Wider 125 yacht.
The Canadian customer was assisted in the purchase of the Wider 150 by Golan Levi from Swell Yachting.
“We are thrilled that our new line of unique yachts are getting the recognition we believe they deserve. The new owner was attracted to the range of features we have included on board, particularly the diesel electric propulsion system which offers such a quiet mode of operation, something the new owner values extremely highly,” commented Tilli Antonelli, CEO and founder of Wider.
The Wider 150 will return to the shipyard for minor works to tweak the yacht’s interior to the new owner’s requirements and will be cruising the Mediterranean in the spring, newly christened Bartali.
“The new owners are passionate about water sports. They loved the design and layout of the Wider 150 but I believe the huge owner’s tender in the beach club was the final element that won them over to Wider,” added Antonelli.
Wider currently has the 165’ Cecilia in construction, available for sale at 30m euro, with delivery in time for summer 2017.
Construction of hull #1 of the Wider 125 will begin in February. Wider has confirmed that it has the capacity to build a second unit in parallel, and is currently in advanced discussions with several interested parties.
Constructed entirely in aluminum to increase performance and allow for greater freedom and flexibility during the build process, the Wider 150’s silhouette was created by Fulvio De Simoni in collaboration with Tilli Antonelli and the in-house design team.
The remarkable design of the Wider 150, which includes a 7 m indoor/outdoor swimming pool, 75-sq-m master stateroom, and her ability to run in near silence using only her batteries, has resulted in unprecedented levels of interest and a collection of awards from the most prestigious organizations, including the World Superyacht Awards, World Yachts trophy and RINA.
