Alsalam Aircraft Company, a leading aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul specialist in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has changed its identity to Alsalam Aerospace Industries.
This change is part of an integrated programme which the company has launched in line with its technical advancements in the aerospace industry.
Alsalam has progressed from its core capabilities of maintenance, repair modification and upgrade of aircraft to the assembly of military aircraft and the manufacture of major military components.
Alsalam was established in 1988 under the Saudi Economic Offset Programme to develop the aviation industry in the Kingdom and establish self-sufficiency in commercial and military aircraft maintenance, repair, modification and upgrade.
"With Allah’s blessing, the steadfast support of the Ministry of Defense, and the Royal Saudi Air Force, Alsalam has developed its technical and non-technical capabilities and established itself as a regional leader and the Kingdom’s premier provider of aerospace products and services for military and commercial aircraft," the company said in a statement.
Alsalam has deep and long lasting relations with the Saudi Armed Forces and in particular the Royal Saudi Air Force, other defense and security services and strategic manufacturing partners headed by The Boeing Company.
Alsalam Aerospace Industries Chairman Ibrahim Bin Ali Bin Musallam said that the decision to change the name followed extending the company’s technical capabilities to include aircraft assembly and manufacturing.
“The first product of our new advanced capabilities, the conversion of an RSAF F15S to F15SA configuration using F-15SA wing assemblies and forward fuselages manufactured by Alsalam, has been completed at our facilities in Riyadh, making Saudi Arabia only one of two countries outside the US with this capability,” he said. “This is not only a tremendous boost to the company's confidence but also completely aligns Alsalam with the rapid development of our beloved country and the Kingdom's vision under Saudi Arabia Vision 2030."
He continued: "This phase is a defining and turning point in Alsalam's progress and a paradigm shift in the aircraft industry in the Kingdom. It makes us incredibly proud and gives us great confidence in the capabilities of our national talent, especially our technicians and engineers, who are integral to developing the company's capabilities."
“On behalf of our Board and executive management, I would like to thank the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, for the good governance that has provided outstanding support for the development of national capabilities that led us to delivering excellence.”
The President and Chief Executive Officer of Alsalam Aerospace Industries, Yahya Bin Hamoud Al Ghoraibi, said: "Changing the company name, introducing the new corporate brand identity and transforming the company to include manufacturing reflects our continuous efforts to develop the aircraft industry in the Kingdom.”
“In our pursuit of good governance, we will not stop with just the change in our company name; we will take advantage of every opportunity to increase our abilities, review our internal policies and processes, and strengthen our relationships with our strategic partners. Moreover; most of all we will develop our national talent base and attract young Saudis who have ambition and relevant skill sets. We will train, develop, and qualify them to contribute not only to Alsalam's diverse activities but to ensure progress in our sector and our contribution to our beloved country.”
