The Grand Hyatt Dubai has welcomed Alberto Burgio as Chef de Cuisine of Andiamo, its Italian restaurant which has just been refurbished.
Chef Alberto has crafted a Southern Italian menu full of authentic flavours for Andiamo, the only restaurant uniquely serving wine fresh from the barrel.
Alberto’s signature pizza honours his heritage with typical Sicilian ingredients. Smooth pistachio pesto, creamy stracciatella cheese and cherry tomatoes not only represent the national flag colours but complement the savoury beef bresaola of this heartwarming pizza.
Having amassed over a decade of culinary expertise, the Italian national began his career in Syracuse in 2004 where he learnt the art of pizza-making from his mentor, the Pizza World Championship-winning Alfio Russo. This ignited Alberto’s passion to hone his skills across Italy and UK in various pizzerias to triumphantly ascend as a Sous Pizza Chef. He also mastered a repertoire of classic pasta, risotto, meat and fish dishes. Prior to joining Grand Hyatt Dubai, he helmed Bussola as Pizzeria Sous Chef in Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi in 2015.
Chef Alberto says he is excited to elevate the Grand Hyatt dining experience further by placing Andiamo as “the restaurant that serves the best pizza in Dubai”.
