The windows and second floor of the world famous Harrods department store in London are being transformed into a spectacular 2017 Dubai property showcase by Emaar Properties, the leading Dubai-based global property developer and builder of the global icon, Burj Khalifa.
During 2016, Emaar Properties undertook a highly successful property showcase at Harrods selling Dubai homes to shoppers at the department store. Footfall in this area of the store is over 205,000 per month. The 2016 Emaar campaign in Harrods generated multi-million pound sales, underlining the brand visibility and benefits of an Emaar showcase in London.
The 2017 Emaar showcase at Harrods promises to be the most spectacular property exhibition held in the store to date. This year’s campaign is double the length of 2016 and the window and floor installations are even more lavish, forming a “must see” experience for any visitor to Harrods and London.
The 2017 showcase has been launched with the unveiling of a stunning Emaar Properties window installation and sales suite within five window bays between doors 8 and 9 of Harrods along Brompton Road. The high profile window on the corner of Brompton and Hans Road houses a 7 ft high scale model of The Tower at Dubai Creek Harbour, an iconic observation tower designed by Santiago Calatrava set in the heart of one of the world’s largest masterplannned communities.
The second window contains a 60-inch television showing a computer generated flythrough of Dubai Creek Harbour; the third contains a scale-model of the Dubai Creek Harbour development; and the fourth has an Emaar living area whilst the fifth window houses a scale model of Downtown Dubai.
Visitors to Harrods will be able to walk into the deep window bays which form a 1,200 sq ft sales suite designed around the scale models and the Emaar living area which has wooden flooring, a Versace carpet, marble coffee table and silver-cream sofa and feature chairs. Alongside the sales suite are five touch screens, which give visitors access to a wealth of information on the various Emaar developments.
Those interested in owning a property in the exciting city of Dubai will be able to meet with a Harrods Estates property advisor in the Emaar sales suite and sit in the living area, walk around the scale models and view additional brochures, price lists and graphics providing information about the story of Emaar Properties.
From February 1, 2017, the Emaar showcase will be expanded further with the launch of a new marketing suite on the second floor of Harrods, providing access to detailed scale models of various Emaar projects which will be open daily until the August 31, 2017.
Since its inception in 2001, Emaar Properties has delivered more than 40,000 residential units in Dubai and other global markets. The developer is responsible for the £14.5 billion ($18.18 billion), 2 million sq km (500 acre) Downtown Dubai, a thriving destination, providing a unique mix of residential towers and commercial precincts. It includes Burj Khalifa, as well as the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destination - The Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera, one of the region’s cultural hubs, and The Dubai Fountain; the world’s tallest performing fountain.
At the 2017 Emaar showcase at Harrods, Emaar Properties will be showcasing a range of stylish residential apartments, houses and villas within its communities in Dubai at prices starting from just £216,000 ($270,819) for a one bedroom apartment. Visitors to Harrods will have exclusive access to the latest new development launches and new phase releases by Emaar.
The properties for sale within the 2017 exhibition will be within The Opera District (centred around the Dubai Opera, one of the largest multi-use arts venue in the region), Downtown Dubai, Dubai Creek Harbour, Dubai Hills Estate and Arabian Ranches.
Reem in Arabian Ranches 2 offers family villas with gardens of 3 or 4-bedrooms sized between 2,193 sq ft and 2,650 sq ft, and ranging in price from £430,000 ($539,130) to £639,000 ($801,172). Part of the incredible Dubai Creek Harbour project, The Cove provides 3-bedroom apartments sized between 1,756 sq ft and 1,883 sq ft and priced from £718,500 ($900,848). Within The Opera District, large apartments with 4 or 5 bedrooms and terraces are on offer at Il Primo, with some totalling over 5,000 sq ft and others reaching 11,500 sq ft. Apartments at Il Primo are priced from £3,800,000 ($4,764,400).
Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Managing Director of Emaar Properties says: “Our 2017 Emaar showcase at Harrods promises to be the most spectacular property exhibition undertaken in the store in recent years and it is a “must see” exhibition for visitors to London. Buying a home in Dubai provides London purchasers with an exceptional lifestyle providing 365 days of sunshine, stability and tax free status. This is why each year more residents from the UK choose to buy a home in Dubai and live in the Emirate either full time, part-time or for holidays.”
Matrooshi continues: “Emaar Properties is delighted to continue our partnership with Harrods Estates within Harrods, following our successful partnership in 2016. A range of properties will be available to buyers in London, from one-bedroom apartments through to large family houses and villas. Harrods is a globally recognised luxury brand, synonymous with quality, excellent service and an unrivalled reputation, making it a perfect brand partner for Emaar.”
Simon Barry, Head of New Residential Developments at Harrods Estates says: “Homes in Dubai are a third of the price of a typical new build London apartment and the Emaar offering is outstanding since the brand is renowned for developing high quality lifestyle communities rather than simply residential developments. The 2016 sales exhibition with Emaar attracted buyers from London, continental Europe, the Middle East and Asia and we expect this pattern to be replicated in 2017.There is no other department store in the world like Harrods, where someone can come in and buy a property.”
Barry continues: “Just as London is the destination city of choice for visitors to Europe, Dubai is the destination of choice for visitors to the Middle East; they are twin world-cities. Dubai offers Londoners a compelling opportunity to invest in the financial capital of the Middle East, a place of stability, with a varied population and one of the most popular destinations for British expatriates in the world. Dubai has a diverse economy, well-regulated financial system, strong mortgage market and is expected to grow leading up to the Dubai World Expo in 2020. Most important is Dubai’s openness to the world and willingness to attract private investors.”
Harrods Estates highlights that a buyer can purchase a house within Arabian Ranches 2 for £430,000 ($539,130), equating to a cost of just £215 ($269.57) per sq ft. Equivalent values in outer prime London are around £850 ($1,065.7) to £1,000 ($1,253.79) per sq ft for houses making Dubai incredible value for UK second home owners and investors. There are now over 19,000 UK nationals who own property in Dubai and the city has over 850,000 tourist and business visitors from the UK each year, rising by 10 per cent per annum since 2012.
