Jet Aviation celebrates another milestone

Jet Aviation celebrated another milestone in Geneva, where its maintenance centre recently completed its first Honeywell DU-875 Elite cockpit display upgrade in combination with a 120-month heavy check on a Global Express XRS.

Jet Aviation’s MRO facility in Geneva recently conducted its first Honeywell DU-875 Elite cockpit display upgrade and cockpit printer upgrade on a large-cabin, ultra-long-range Global Express XRS. To help minimize the aircraft’s downtime, the upgrade was done in conjunction with a required 120-month check, Geneva’s second such inspection on a Global Express Series aircraft.

During the upgrade, all Flight Deck display units on the aircraft were replaced with a new Honeywell Primus Elite DU-875 display system. The DU-875 meets requirements for planned growth functionality to support future situational awareness enhancements while further providing general purpose application processing and advanced graphics. The new cockpit printer was a necessary add-on to the DU875 installation and required a new engineering and certification package.

In addition to the heavy maintenance inspection and DU-875 upgrade, several cabinetry pieces were repaired and restored. The aircraft exterior also received significant paint touch-ups, bright work, airframe polishing and a Teflon coating application. The project as a whole required 6,000 man-hours and was delivered ahead of schedule following a successful check flight.

“We’re delighted with the quality of workmanship in Geneva,” said Customer Representative Jean Charles Rami, maintenance manager for AKDN Logistics. “The facility truly demonstrated its full range of capabilities and the customer service was excellent. Issues were dealt with promptly and the staff was friendly, skilled and highly competent. For operational reasons, we required an earlier delivery than initially planned. The Geneva team was fully cooperative in shifting priorities and actually delivered the project ahead of schedule. The entire undertaking was completed to our full satisfaction.”

Cyril Martiniere, Jet Aviation’s managing director of the Geneva facility, said: “Our primary goal is to meet our customers’ service needs to the highest standards. To ensure the quality of our services, we constantly invest in our personnel, equipment and relationships with the OEMs and other suppliers. We also draw on our global network to maximize synergies through shared knowledge, skills, resources and capabilities.”

Jet Aviation’s MRO facility in Geneva offers full heavy maintenance services for Bombardier Global Express series, Gulfstream aircraft and Boeing BBJ. Last month, the facility also completed its first 192-month heavy check on a Gulfstream V.

Jet Aviation Geneva was founded in 1969 and offers maintenance, refurbishment and FBO services. The company provides complete maintenance, repair and avionics support to private and corporate operators.
