Swiss luxury watchmaker Audemars Piguet has brought out a new limited edition to commemorate its bonds with its dealer in Qatar.
The news was revealed as the 14th Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) got under way in the Qatari capital yesterday.
The Royal Oak Offshore Tourbillon Openworked in titanium with a black ceramic bezel is crafted specially for Ali Bin Ali and limited to 20 pieces only.
The timepiece was introduced to reflect the company’s dedication to the Middle East and its long-standing relationship with the Qatari retailer.
Masterfully skeletonised entirely by hand, the Ali Bin Ali limited edition Royal Oak Offshore Tourbillon Openworked comes with a 44-mm titanium case and a black ceramic bezel, pushpieces and screw-locked crown.
The dial is black and openworked – emphasising the beautiful hand finished decoration of the movement – and features black counters, white gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating, and a black inner bezel.
The gravity-defying tourbillon, one of haute horlogerie’s most spectacular complications, also gets special attention thanks to the openworking, resulting not only in improved performance and accuracy, but exceptional aesthetic design.
The timepiece is complemented by a black rubber strap with titanium pin buckle.
Audemars Piguet is the oldest fine watchmaking manufacturer still in the hands of its founding families (Audemars and Piguet). Since 1875, the company has written some of the finest chapters in the history of haute horlogerie, including a number of world firsts. In the Vallée de Joux, at the heart of the Swiss Jura, numerous masterpieces are created in limited series embodying a remarkable degree of horological perfection, including sporty models, classic and traditional timepieces, splendid ladies’ jewellery watches, as well as one-of-a-kind creations.
