Swiss luxury brand Piaget is showing off a new jewellery collection at the Art Dubai fair, which is currently under way in the UAE city.
Bringing its passion for art, design and fine craftsmanship to the art fair for a second consecutive year, Piaget is introducing for the first time ever to the region its latest high jewellery and watchmaking collection called the Sunny Side of Life.
With its explosion of colourful stones, diamonds and intricate gold work, the Sunny Side of Life collection is a lavish celebration of a culture of joy and creative vivacity inspired by a sunny disposition.
“With its endless sun and its boundless energy, Dubai has become a formidable arbiter of style and emerging trends, a place like no other where life is to be enjoyed to the fullest under the warm sun,” explains Chabi Nouri, Piaget CEO. “In fact, Dubai welcomed Piaget during the 1960s as one of the first watchmaker-jewellers to establish itself in the region with its daring and unconventional creations - perhaps an early sign of a shared passion for creativity, innovation, audacity and that unmistakeable joie-de-vivre that Piaget is showcasing through the Sunny Side of Life at Art Dubai.”
Articulated around three environments - Sunset, Pool Side and Lush Nature - the collection is inspired by the luscious nature of palm trees, vibrant blue skies, shimmering water and bright rays of light turning into starry nights.
Incandescent gold paired with gems in contrasting colours, the 150 exhilarating pieces capture unforgettable moments of radiance while basking in the warmth of the sun.
Whether intricate woven gold cuff watches shimmering like sunrays, silk-like necklaces set with floral diamond shapes or flamingo-like pink sapphire rings, taking a walk on the Sunny Side of Life is letting oneself be seduced by an irresistible invitation to indulge in a unique lifestyle and art-de-vivre, to dream and be thrilled by the natural beauty one’s surroundings.
Piaget’s partnership with Art Dubai is the latest chapter in a long tradition of breaking new ground in creative design, in some instances through illustrious collaborations with artists such as Dali, Andy Warhol and more. However, giving free reign to the boldest creative vision can only be achieved through the complete mastery of ancestral techniques.
Reflecting its on-going mission to make the impossible possible, the Maison nurtures the skills its artisans so that its distinctive Piaget style can continue to evolve, reimagined through the absolute virtuosity of expert goldsmithing and gem-setting.
“We are thrilled to be able to bring a new expression of Piaget’s artistry to a city that recognizes the appeal of unbridled imagination,” adds Nouri. “Dubai is a place where the sky is the limit, where everything and anything becomes possible.”
Now in its eleventh edition, Art Dubai features 94 galleries from 43 countries, with 27 galleries attending for the first time.
One of the world’s most globally diverse art fairs as well as the pre-eminent platform for regional art the fair is being held at the Madinat Jumeirah resort until March 18. Tickets can be purchased at the fair or online at a discounted price.
