Honda Aircraft Company will showcase the HondaJet at the 2017 Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (Abace), which runs from April 11 to 13 in Shanghai, China.
The appearance at the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport will mark the first-ever static display of HondaJet in China.
“We have received strong interest from prospects in the Asia region and showcasing the HondaJet at China’s premier business aviation event enables us to further strengthen interest in the China and Asian market,” said Honda Aircraft Company President and CEO Michimasa Fujino. “We are excited to create this first opportunity for attendees of Abace to see the HondaJet’s innovative design and spacious, modern interior.”
The HondaJet is an advanced light jet developed from a clean sheet design and certified by the US’ Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Aviation Safety Agency (Easa), and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Mexico. The HondaJet incorporates advanced technologies that allow it to achieve both high speed performance and high fuel efficiency.
With a maximum cruise speed of 422 knots (486 mph) the jet is the fastest jet in its class; it soars highest in its class with a maximum altitude of 43,000 feet; and it is the most fuel-efficient light jet in its class by up to 17 per cent, according to HondaJet.
It has an NBAA IFR range of 1,223 nautical miles (1,408 miles).
The jet incorporates many technological innovations in aviation design, including the unique Over-The-Wing Engine Mount (OTWEM) configuration that dramatically improves performance and fuel efficiency by reducing aerodynamic drag.
The OTWEM design also reduces cabin sound, minimises ground-detected noise, and allows for the roomiest cabin in its class, the largest baggage capacity, and a fully serviceable private aft lavatory. The HondaJet is equipped with the most sophisticated glass flight deck available in any light business jet, a Honda-customised Garmin G3000.
The HondaJet is Honda's first commercial aircraft and is currently offered for sale in North America, South America and Europe through the HondaJet dealer network.
Honda Aircraft Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Honda Motor Co.
