Geneva Airpark welcomed 204 jets in 2016, an increase of 6.4 per cent over the previous year, despite a slowdown in business aviation at Swiss city’s airport.
Business aviation traffic at Geneva Airport (EBAA) fell 1.2 per cent in 2016 over the previous year.
However, in 2016, Geneva Airpark’s hangar recorded an average occupied surface area of 9,300 sq m out of its 10,000-sq-m total space.
This annual average confirmed the trend noted in the first quarter, the airpark said.
The airpark, which is directly accessible from the runway, hosted on average 17 aircraft per day, and up to 24 planes on some days.
Geneva Airpark also expanded its clientele in 2016 with 18 new customers, representing over 32 per cent of active clients on a daily basis.
“Over 20 per cent of our new clients from 2015 continued to use Geneva Airpark’s services, such as custom aircraft cleaning and on site laundry, in 2016,” a spokesman said. “These figures reflect the interest for our tailor-made solutions and the quality and precision of our services from a non-Geneva-based clientele that is difficult to retain.”
