Modern Art Studio has expanded its Rolex boutique in Bahrain, making it the largest of its kind in the Middle East.
One of the oldest Rolex agents worldwide, Modern Art Studio was started in 1940 by Naji Murad, whose sons David Naji Murad and Richard Naji Murad lead the company today as directors continuing the more than 75-year-old family legacy.
The expanded store at the Bahrain City Centre shopping mall in Seef was inaugurated by Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed Al Zayani. Spread over 210 sq m, the new boutique is three-and-a-half times bigger than the old one.
Modern Art Studio General Manager MP Raghu said it was, in fact, the “largest dedicated Rolex boutique in the Middle East”.
Developed in collaboration with Rolex Interior Design Specialists, the boutique incorporates elements of Arabian culture.
A new VIP suite for private viewings has been added and the redesign includes new wall panels manufactured in Switzerland, along with furniture and a Murano chandelier from Italy.
The ambience illustrates the world of Rolex and offers privacy and professional advice, with many staff who have been with Modern Art Studio for more than 30 years.
An extensive collection of 800 Rolex timepieces is on display in beautifully crafted walnut showcases in the boutique. These watches range in price from BD2,500 to BD75,000 ($6,625-198,750).
Being an approved Rolex Service Centre, the boutique also offers complete after sales service, repair and dial changes delivered by technicians trained and qualified by Rolex.
“Only official Rolex retailers are allowed to sell and maintain a Rolex watch. With the necessary skills, technical know-how and special equipment, they guarantee the authenticity of each and every part of your Rolex and help you make the choice that will last a lifetime,” said Raghu.
Raghu said the store has enjoyed 10 to 20 per cent annual growth over the last few years and he sees no reason why that would not continue this year.
“This is a brand synonymous with luxury around the world, and one which we are confident will appeal to the discerning taste of many Bahraini and Saudi residents who recognise exceptional quality.”
