The 2017 Dubai Airshow will once again throw the spotlight on training pilots and crew and at a conference held during the November event.
The Gulf Aviation Training Event (Gate) will return for its fourth instalment during the show, which runs from November 12 to 16 at DWC, Dubai Airshow Site in Dubai South.
The one-day programme will take place on November 13 and focus this year on maintenance and crew training, in addition to pilot training.
The programme will include high-level presentations and discussions on topics such as how the Middle East is keeping ahead of the curve with airline training developments; what is else is needed to move with the speed of technology in training and evidence based training principles.
In addition, there will be presentations from the event headline sponsor CAE entitled How to Train A Better Pilot and sponsor The University of South Wales on Aviation Schools, Instructors and Certification Standards.
Some of the airlines already committed to speak include Air Arabia and Etihad Airways.
Boeing’s Current Market Outlook (CMO) 2014 – 2033 predicts the Middle East will need 62,000 new skilled maintenance personnel and 55,000 new pilots to staff the region’s airlines between now and 2033.
“Gate has seen an increase in interest from both conference delegates and exhibitors since its inception,” says Michele van Akelijen, Managing Director of F&E Aerospace, the organiser of the show. “Looking at the predicted demand for future staff, it is imperative that the industry begins to address this now, and Gate provides the ideal platform for them to do so within the centre of the aerospace industry.”
As in previous years, Gate will also include a dedicated pavilion within the show providing exclusive exhibition space to showcase companies providing flight training products and services for the five days of the show.
Gate is held under the Patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, Chairman and CEO of Emirates.
